These guys are a newer band that sound like an older band from the early 90s. Came up in my recommendations on YouTube and I clicked it. Very good. Has samples of Thurston Moore ranting and all that jazz.

You should check out their Pet Grief album.

There's a lot of bands that were in and around that scene like Pallers and Korallreven who had a RD member.

Thanks for the info. I'll listen to all this stuff as the day progresses. Always check out your recommendations since 2011 at least. You've not let me down too much.
I owe you gold bars for Piano Magic and Klima alone!

Yesterday was a German rock and hip hop day.
This band rocks. German pop is very different from our stuff. Lot of hip hop influence in just about every band. Sprechgesang is used everywhere.

Today it's some classically influenced feminist power electronics noise murder balladry:
Image
ALL BITCHES DIE by LINGUA IGNOTA (her capitalisation, not mine).

Cheery stuff.

I read about her on The Quietus , and was suitably intrigued by the talk of reclaiming traditionally "masculine" aggression from noise/grind/industrial, but also was quite impressed that the whole interview manages to avoid mentioning what to me would be the most obvious musical and conceptual touchstone - Diamanda Galas.

Not quite sure if using a sample of "All Things Bright and Beautiful" on "FOR I AM THE LIGHT (AND MINE IS THE ONLY WAY NOW)" is perhaps a bit hackneyed, but it works well in the context of the rest of the track.

Yeah that's a feat. I'll need to check this out properly, looks promising.

Btw have you heard Years of Denial, they have a Diamanda on a club 18-30 with Ofra Haza influence in their more minimal industrial (see Hashima) but they are a lot more easy listening compared to LINGUA IGNOTA .

If you like those, you should check out Labrador Records, they are/were home to many of the bands David mentioned.

That's a great shout. I'm really glad ypu mentioned it because it made me go over and see if I had missed anything on Labrador and I learned there's a Club 8 record out this month that sounds good in the samples.
