That version is 'the one'. Probably my favourite Arab Strap track, at least it's the one that springs to mind.Dan. wrote: Arab Strap - The Clearing - 12"

can't believe no1 has commented on the tom hanks joke.
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

It's definitely between The Clearing and New Birds for me. Have you heard the Mioux Mioux remix of The First Big Weekend yet? It's nothing mind blowing, but it keeps the same feel as the original whilst still sounding completely different.shadowplay wrote:That version is 'the one'. Re: recent vinyl acquisitions the thread
so me and my friend took a trip to ayr and we found the best record shop i had ever been to. that's saying a great deal. what it lacked in quantity, it made up for in quality and staff friendlyness. so we ended up having a chat with the owner of the store, a guy called ian. he was very interesting and we were discussing a great deal of stuff. my friend said she would buy me a record under £20 as a late biffday present. there was so much good stuff in there that i really couldent think what to buy. if it was up to me, i would have came home with half their metal, hiphop and punk sections. so the owner asks the ultimate question "what have you been getting into lately?" i mentioned i have a thing for black metal. he runs over to grab a record and i have to say, the guy got it so right, i had to buy it because it was right down my ally.... anyway. here is what i got.

Re: recent vinyl acquisitions the thread
As I have mentioned in the song of the day I am obsessed with Ian William Craig's new album and placed an order for it a few days ago. I primarily listen to music digitally, but if I'm buying an album, I'm not going to pay for a digital copy. I emailed Fat Cat records asking about a digital code and I guess since this is a split press with their UK office, there's no download code because the UK counterpart has gotten rid of them. TERRIBLE idea, but the guy I spoke to was kind enough to get me a download for free.
