The Guitaraculas - Love's Secret Domain This should really be off limits, the original is fully empowered by the mightiest forest gods but it's a fair effort, let down by pretty poor phoned in phrasing. Full marks for having the nuts to try though.
Coil - Love's Secret Domain This is mad love...this is mad love...

Terrific version of The Troggs' "With A Girl Like You" by Yo La Tengo--demonstrating that less is more. Coupled in the vid with their own beautiful "Our Way to Fall".

Schleimer K - On The Road Again
and the 'original' to compare and contrast -Canned Heat - On The Road Again. I didn't even know it was a cover when I bought the Schleimer K album, i'm sure my cousin had to tell me.

How about Big Star covering the Kinks?
I never get tired of hearing Jody Stephens on drums. If there's any drummer I wish I could play like, it's him.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Could Coil's version itself be considered a cover of Roy Orbison's In Dreams?shadowplay wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2017 2:32 amThe Guitaraculas - Love's Secret Domain This should really be off limits, the original is fully empowered by the mightiest forest gods but it's a fair effort, let down by pretty poor phoned in phrasing. "In dreams I walk with you, in dreams I talk to you
In dreams you're mine, all of the time"
OK, not a cover, but a hip borrowing, which I'm a fan of.
What I like about Canned Heat's original is that it really sounds hot and humid---like a summer day in the south. That droning buzz all throughout like rural telephone lines or insects. The shimmer of heat waves off the distant highway.

I'd say no, it also borrows from The Sick Rose by William Blake.

Spell - Stone is Very Very Cold
The original by Priscilla Paris is a classic too, but Rose McDowall's voice winds through the source material with frosty tendrils like few others can...Very Very Cold indeed!
