What's the deal with the singles club? I know some preorders are getting ridiculously long and delayed but you've received nothing, not even a 'sorry'?

Sweet fuck all. I've emailed (no reply) and FB messaged them (half arsed reply) and it appears things have lapsed for the last 9 months with them not releasing a singles club release.
Allegedly things are happening again soon, so I'll give them until the end of the Q1 in 2017 and if there is still nothing I'll ask for a refund.
I'm happy to wait, just not to stiffed.
Also my mate who lives in Brisbane died suddenly of a heart attack last month, so I cannot even send the "boys" around!

Now the Too Pure singles club in London is fucking awesome and I highly recommend it to any and everyone.

^^^

He maybe needs to add a 'seemed' or a 'to me', which would make it fair enough. Severed Heads, Scattered Order, SPK and the great M Squared label all showed Aus with it best feet pointing forward.

I do think it's an important record (especially as a reflection of overt pop classicism) but that big statement is surely only valid from a personal point of observation or if you'd been a particularly excitable NME writer in 1985.

I think a lot of folk seem to forget or not even know that Sloblands came out before Upside Down and if anything it's more like records being made a few years down the line.

I just got the new Us and Them 10' on Fruits De Mer and within it contains some really rather lovely covers and Roud interpretations.

Us and Them - Winter Winds

Sandy Denny - Winter Winds

Lake Ruth - Tam Lin totally fantastic baroque psychedelic cover of the Fairport Convention's imagining of the original Child Ballad.

Fairport Convention - Tam Lin

If you don't know Lake Ruth check them out I really liked their recent album Actual Entity and am totality gaga for the The Inconsolable Jean-Claude seven. A must have purchse if you have found yourself purchasing records like The Left Outsides

I'm surprising myself to post a link to some disco but Pink's Floyd "Echoes" cover by Fireball FC is really nice.

Have you ever heard Rosebud? They did a whole album of cosmic disco Pink Floyd covers in 1977 called Discoballs (A Tribute To Pink Floyd) . I only bought this due to it being no money, having a tacky sleeve and pure curiosity.

Rosebud- Interstellar Overdrive Sounds best pitched down a bit IMO and features folk from Magma and Space (or the same person who was in both).

Not so much a cover as the same carol tackled by a diverse range of artists from full acapella folk interpretations, to tense electronic brooding spread over a 50 year plus period

Shackleton & Vengeance Tenfold - Seven Virgins

Sandy Denny - Seven Virgins (The Leaves of Life)

Eyeless in Gaza - The Leaves of Life / Seven Virgins

The Watersons - Seven Virgins (The Leaves of Life)

June Tabor - All Tomorrow's Parties - hadn't noticed the similarity between JT's voice and Nico's before, but I fancy I can hear it in old OSG favourite The Scarecrow too.

Two T-rex covers by the same group.

The Fast Set - Children of the Revolution seven inch bee side on Axis (4AD precursor)

The Fast Set - The King of the Rumbling Spires from the Some Bizarre album.

Fuel covering Elton John's "Daniel"

I'm not even a Fuel fan, but this stills makes my eyes water.
