Portishead - SOS
That's in High Rise but it's not on the soundtrack album and it's never going to be available to buy.

Yes, and it's a shame.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Think the latter song is a nice effort.
Agreed. I think I have a tendency to hear a particular structure or melody in most songs to the exclusion of other elements, and I love to hear someone else present a new layer of a familiar tune... and if that presentation means switching a major to a minor or vice versa here and there, or going to a well considered fifth instead of the root occasionally, more power to them. That kind of transformation can be liberating.

Jaakko Eino Kalevi ft. Farao--Everything Nice (Popcaan cover) unlikely (maybe a bit tongue in cheek) cover of a pop-dancehall hit filtered through J.E.K.'s melancho-disco kaleidoscope!

This version of Yumi Matsutoya's "Kageriyuku Heya" as done by Shiina Ringo makes me happy. It's lovingly similar to the original yet takes it to some fun places. Shiina Ringo can pretty much pull anything off, though, she's pretty great.

Julien Baker covers "Accident Prone", a Jawbreaker song from the 1990s.

Colourbox - Baby I Love You Sothat which should not be covered, covered in TRIUMPH! When I was a young teen I beyond treasured my Jacob MillarBaby I Love you So/ King Tubby's Meet Rockers Up-Town seven inch and I still do. I remember buying the Colourbox version and dropping the needle in such trepidation fearing some sort of cheesy Clash style cover and with some joy embracing it's wonderfulness. I've probably got a dozen of the seven inch such was my fear I'd somehow end up wearing it out.

I like this cover of Pink Floyd's 'Have a cigar' by Foo Fighters.

I always preferred Portishead remixing Primal Scream - Give Out But Don't give up to the original.
