I just sorta randomly breezed through my iPod (I'm at work now), and picked the Vandelles' "Fever Of The Beat", sorta by accident.

I've listened to it like 6 times in a row now. Dunno why, it's just catching me today. Worth checking out, if you like noise rock/shoegazer/surf music.

Am I in the right place for that? :P

I don't feel that on the early stuff because the keys are usually subordinate, except maybe on some of Monster Movie but later Saw Delight etc yeah cheesy. I don't know who had the idea of bringing in some clown from Traffic. I don't really like them post Future Days but like the reunion album a lot.

Johan, I remember reading you liked the Bill Callahan album and I was wondering if you have ever heard Grand Slavo who I think have a similar feel if not sound. Their first album Death is a bit of a treat; it's a rambling intertwined story of a bird, a bear, a rat, a man and a rabbit, combining spoken word, orchestral sections and a simple folk element. It's a great record to zone out to. The new record 'Soil Creatures' is pretty special too.

I like, I like. Another one on my list of albums to get when my emusic subscription renews.

This morning I've been up early and spinning sevens while baking some rolls for breakfast and particularly loving. Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child - Kathleen Emery. Superfunky but depressive :D

Other members of my household have expressed their dismay at so many songs of pains this early on a sunday so I've whacked on Bibio - Lover's Carvings :)

That version's creepy, it's like Current 93 and a very unhappy scene...love it!

Portico Quartet are interesting, I like how they have dub element amongst the jazz, I'm quite looking forward to seeing them later in the year.

Today I've been listening to Swans offshoot Skin, especially the Blood, Women, Roses LP.

A 1000 Years being a favourite.
