Carla can't have too many fans as far as I'm concerned F ingers, Tarcar and Carla solo are all brilliant. If you've not heard it check out her cover version tape 'Top of the Pops' it's wonderful and could also provide a useful listening springboard for someone not familiar with the sources.windmill wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 4:04 pmCarla dal Forno - The Garden
Uh oh. this is Shadowplays territory isn't it ?
How did I get here ?
My song is Led Er Est - Orange which is just a fantastic modern cold wave track that sounds just right and would have been right at home on a counter top tape only release I might have bought back in 1981.
Led Er Est - Laredo HEY!
talking tape only stuff...Vinyl on Demand have just reissued the two releases by Two Daughters (the first of which was tape only). I love Two Daughters and you will tow if you like anything on the spectrum from Dome, to Deux Filles, to O Yuki Conjugate, to Orior, to Caroline K.
Two Daughters - Ladder of Souls (and So I) The devotional melancholy of So I totally touches the soul.

Are you loathsome tonight?

Re: Song of the Day Thread
Sorry Windmill but what a terrible version.
Nouvelle Vague did a muzac version ten years ago*, the world didn't need another one.
*The music clip is new as it appears they have re-released it for a "rarities" album, wtf!

Re: Song of the Day Thread
This might be silly, but during my late night beer drinking I came across this old live clip of Big Country playing "In A Big Country" and no matter what you might feel about the song or maybe don't feel anything, a great performance is a great performance.
I'm no real fan of theirs and would struggle to name three songs, but they were hot in this performance, no doubt. It's just a fun thing to watch.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Lots of people have covered this, but the original is still the best.
