Been digging '70s synth disco this evening, including this -

Giorgio Moroder - From Here to Eternity (truncated 7" edit).

That bass interlude around the 1.55 mark provides a template that approximately 20 years later became Acid House. Off to listen to the 7 1/2 minute version now.
Yes it's a killer. I thought the Aeroplane mix was good to shake your coconuts to; Giorgio Moroder vs MB Disco-From Here To Eternity (Aeroplane Remix)
Realised today there was actually only one decade between Disco and Acid House, also fixed D's link for anyone wanting to indulge.

Today's Euro-disco inferno comes courtesy of Space and Can.

Thanks for putting in the fix.

A cosmic disco track I adore is Danyel gerard Le vieux de la montagne part 2 It manages to be totally it's own thing and avoid the pitfall a lot of non disco artists fell into when they went at the glitter ball...sounding like a cargo cult version.

Btw you might enjoy the two Cosmic Machine compilations. Hasstuff like Space and great tracks by the likes of Droids.

Cosmic Machine - A Voyage Across French Cosmic & Electronic Avantgarde (1970-1980)

And Cosmic Machine the sequel

Btw I forgot...anyone who has enjoyed playing in the verdant greens thicket said of the hauntological thread will really like the Red Axes mix of X Ray Pop's La Machine A Rever I posted a couple of floors up. They slow it down to amazing effect...chic as Chanel!

let's eat grandma. kinda like a weird hybrid of lorde, princess Chelsea and sleep party people.
I saw them compared to Cranes ages ago and checked them out, they didn't sound anything like Cranes, squeaky voices aside.

Sean, if you are looking for the ultimate in oddball wyrd twin acts look at From Nursery to Misery, for me easily in the top ten of best archive/repackaged/reissues of the year. Really lo-fi and naive but also charming and haunting. This is what happens when you let your teenage daughters hang about with the portastudio owning goth next door.

This is a wee film about the sisters today, to be honest I found it depressing and regretted watching it.

The Incredible String Band - Jane

Donovan - Celeste

Roy Harper - East of the Sun

Yep, I'm in the mood for mellow acoustic fare today.

Tomorrow Syndicate - Altered State the motorik sound of young Glasgow. Pressed in vanishingly small lathecut numbers but available on bandcamp if you missed it.

Tomorrow Syndicate - Okulomotor

The recent collection of reworks of Ryuichi Sakamoto's wondrous async by some fellow titans of shimmers, bleeps, and bangs has been getting some serious rotation* lately.

Ryuichi Sakamoto - Life, Life (Andy Stott Remodel)
Ryuichi Sakamoto - Andata (Oneothrix Point Never Remodel)
Ryuichi Sakamoto - Solari (Fennesz Remodel)
Ryuichi Sakamoto - async (Arca Remodel)

*(metaphorical, file/CD only *tears*)

I love this! You always get me with obscure picks that turn out to be excellent.
It reminds me of SY without the tension and disharmonic phrasings.

Cool, glad to here it's not just me who likes them. Their first single Into the Void was a cracker too.

Btw I've mentioned it a few times on here but if anyone liked and couldn't get a copy of the wonderful motorikin' Australian Testing Labs Inc.: Music For Aircooled Motoring* elpee on Polyphonic Youth, it's just about to be re-pressed.
