First Frankie Knuckles and then The Blueboy, you're bringing up stuff from my DJing days this week. Original version definitely the best on Remember Me, I don't think I ever played out the Sure is Pure mix.
Blue Boy's a good tune, I probably had no real need for it when it was out but I've quite enjoyed it in retrospect. The Knuckles/Jamie Principle track is just one of those tracks like Sharivari that seems relevant no matter what way the wind blows.

Currently pretty much only playing the Gabe Gurnsey elpee, this pair are like Cabaret Voltaire getting it on with Missy Elliot.

Gabe Gurnsey - Heavy Rubber

Gabe Gurnsey - Temazzy

The Gabe Gurnsey elpee really put me in the mood for some Playgroup for some reason.

Playgroup - Number One

Playgroup - Make it Happen

Bring it on(feat Kathleen Hannah) this is what you need to get fired up for anything.

Playgroup - Pressure

Playgroup feat. Rowetta - Overflow

Cold Beat - Never Gonna Cry Again the Jaguar018 will probably have his order in for this 7 track Eurythmics cover elpee on Dark Entries. I would have thought they'd have beat a path to Sing Sing but they didn't cover it.

Dollkraut - Du Fetisch (Feat. De Ambassade) smuggling this home furtively in my sunday best flashers mac, brown paper bag preserving the modesty of it's Dressing For Pleasure cover. Oh matron it's ten inches!

The Past Seven Days - Raindance some classik(ish) scratchy and yet fairly elegant Sheffield post punk

Eurythmics - Sing Sing

Fockewulf 190 - Body Heat (instrumental) the full rolled up sleeves as Mrs S puts it. The vocal is good too but I'm more into the instro (which is more of a dub than an instro).

Timothy J. Fairplay - Pay The Price For Paradise all your Cossack disko needs catered for and more.

Broken English Club - Anonymous Death Tape and Animal TOwn such a mighty elpee of poisonous post punk, perfect for ruining anyones day! Animal Town is the best state of nation address I've heard in years...orrrr as Mrs S put it; 'cheery stuff'.

Sacred car parks
Morning dirty light
rats on pills crawl the streets
Savage dogs inside police vans, spitting blood.
Sniffing petrol in the morning sun
Don't look him in the eyes, carry on walking
Diamond status slaves.
Civic ghosts living under the motorway, stinking of piss.
Drink late, drink early, like flies.
Your quiet neighbour taken in for questioning.
Everything becomes televison.
Suburban rubber parties.
Afternoon leather games and tea.
Barking nazis in plastic tracksuits
Britain fist fuckers.
Pub bomb disco
Terminal care homes, dreams and bleach.
Animal Town living like rats.

:w00t: They mentioned this on their Facebook page.

Yes. Order is in. In all honesty, I never liked Annie Lennox's voice very much, so it's a lot easier for me to enjoy her songs with someone else singing.

Edit: if you like Mazzy Star, this might have some appeal: the Holy Motors.

]Borusiade - Forewarned Is Forearmed In the same soundfield as previous 12' 'Silent' a mighty Test Dept martial tubthumper tailor made for the worlds fiercest battalion of black clad goth majorettes.

Borisuade - Atlas kinda like Basscadet experienccing a close encounter.

Aphex Twin - T69 Collapse at the risk of offending the sort of wingnut that ONLY likes AT it's almost getting into fourthworldism and a hint of (whisper it) vaporware, at least before it hits the squelch sinkhole.

Not fussed at all by the video but the trompe l'oeil subway posters are great (pictures by DJ food)

Shackleton - Fireworks I saw this emotional and devotional classic had been reissued and dug it out. Still sounds incredible, phasing ghostlike through the Muslimgauze spectre choral universe amid vaporous cymbals dripping like water on a hotplate and a few passes of cat bell.

I'll say it does. Like James Wilsey meets Hope Sandoval. Love at first listen! :-*

Bel Canto - Time Without End exquisite elegaic song. Geir Jenssen (Biosphere) rightfully gets lots of respect these days but Bel Canto tend to get a 'Bel who?' when you mention them. I love the lyrics, I was going to say anything with Minotaur in the lyrics has to have a chance but then I thought....heavy metal prog jazz must be up to it's Goblins in minotaurs and shelved that idea.

Hope measuring time without end
You could be just like the sun
Beautiful like a dream
Innocent like a child
Heroic and brave
Like the kings and the warriors in the legends

Behold the depths of your innermost soul
A minotaur walking in endless despair
Mythical like a dream
Invisible like a soft breath of wind
But still in your fantasy
This will all be real

I'll show you who you are
I'll furnish you with a burning desire

Dead Can Dance - How Fortunate the Man with None purely based on a certain simularity in the main melody.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Well done. I've always loved the slow funk vibe of Baby, I Love You.

Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.
