Their other elpee on Peripheral Minimal ‎has been getting a lot of play as well.

Mitra Mitra - The Flood

Ultra Vivid Scene - Lynn Marie #1 one of our house guest has been reacquainting themselves all morning

Ultra Vivid Scene - The Kindest Cut often some truly picture perfect Jazzmaster tones.

Ultra Vivid Scene - Lightning

Ultra Vivid Scene - Lightning (72 B.P.M. / 4 A.M.)

Ultra Vivid Scene - Thief's Love Song

Ultra Vivid Scene - Medicating Angels

oh and totally pounding this elpee; Polytechnic Youth - A Glitch In Time

I'm really enjoying my download of Marionettes. I would love to hear this in a club at deafening levels--the massive synth swirling all around me, feeling the bass in my bones.

Yeah it's great stuff and really catchy, the combination of minimal electronics and chilly sung/spoken female vocals 'bonus points for euro accent of some sort) is right up my street. The kids have been playing it out and it's going down well, it been good seeing stuff like this break out the genre ghetto and cross over. In many ways it harks back to the early days of acid house when DJ's including myself suddenly found they could play their Chris and Cosey records in a club, at least early on. I've noticed a fair bit of more darkwave stuff crossing over, Mitra Mitra is much more 'classical' minimal wave as opposed to the hoody goth Darkwave artists but there's a lot of commonality and acts like Beta Evers with a foot in both camps. The big (more leftfield) club crossover darkwave tracks in the UK at least have been Boy Harsher - Pain and Boy Harsher - Your Body is Nothing which I adore for their relentless and yet ultra catchy simplicity.

Red Axes - Abidjan feat Yakomin 'A1 sees Red Axes and seven-piece Ivorian band, Yakomin, intertwine mechanical drum-machine passages with breathing, live percussion and recordings of instruments indigenous to the West African costal region. Amuse’s dusty, afrofunk-leaning synths pair excellently with the celebratory singing and rhythms by students from Abidjan’s Insaac Music School. Addis Sababa’s overdriven, analog electronics escort lesser-known wind and plucked instruments to the sunny finish line. in trademark Red Axes style.' Not got this yet but heard it at the weekend and it's hard to hear it and not dance about like a right tit.

Marcel Dettmann & Silent Servant - The Bond very much along the lines of a smeared out relation of his superb Sterile Hands project, which is pretty unsurprising.

A slight sojourn into late 80's Belgium

HNO3 - Doughnut Dollies

In-D-Bastion In-D Stress

SM - SM (A Slow Kick Off Beat Mix)

Zsa Zsa La Boum - Something Scary

Deaf Chonky - Bad Things Could Happen (Red Axes Remix) bought this pretty much only for this remix, which sounds like a gutter trash remix of riders on the storm which goes full junkyard halfway through before somehow finding it's way back to two lane blacktop.

Deaf Chonky - Bad Things Could Happen squaking trash rock starts off reminding me of I'm a Believer (not the Monkees one) while not having that elegant twin tub orchestral glide. It's Ok but not sure I'd have jumped without the Red Axes mix, which pretty much renders this moot.

Secret Circuit - The Feather Drop floor focussed fourth world ultraglo with subliminal Dr John growl.

Hampshire And Foat - Antonio's Theme just TOO COOL. I don't always listen to music in the car by I was sweeping along in the old Mercedes W111 Coupe with this on and and feeling I was somehow starring in my own motion picture! :)

Bobbie Gentry - Jessye' Lisabeth I mean what a fucking voice all smoked out and smooth but rasped like a cat's tongue licking your ear. Then there's the music...gorgeous refracted baroque Americana. This record should be loved far and wide but is sadly a minor best kept secret.

Bobbie Gentry - Courtyard

Bobbie Gentry - Refractions

Bobbie Gentry - mornin' Glory

Cool as cool can be, Bobbie owned arguably the coolest pop star car...a Maserati Ghibli, raven black as her bangs!

^^^

Glen's great and all that but Bobbie is often otherworldly on the Delta Sweete elpee. I can live without some of the more rustic and upbeat tunes and I prefer her own songs to the covers but the ballads are killing and the more dreamy arrangements and her playing is great.

Weirdly I've never bought a Bobbie Gentry record in a 'good' record shop or fair, Glasgow has always given up the elpees and sevens in charity shops the Barras and that sort of thing. Fancy and Courtyard is a killer a and b side and I probably have ten of them.

Oh andAR Kane - Deep Blue Breath

andAR Kane Deep Blue Breath (London mix from Volume 10)

Alex! - Black African Comet King :-*

Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper

Sometimes it seems the classic songs have always been floating around the ether, amongst all the other noise and music but once in a while someone is able to reach up at just the right time and catch one.

Gabe Gurnsey - Night Track excellent album of sleek machine funk that draws deep from canonical house, techno and electro but brings it up to date by mixing in the digital smear of outsider RnB, Sheffield Voltaire steel, dancehall wobble and straight shouldered minimal wave. For me it's definitely a cut above recent activity on the Factory Floor mothership.

Gabe Gurnsey - Ultra Clear Sound

Gabe Gurnsey - sweet heat :-* oh my!

Frankie Knuckles - Baby Wants to Ride pretty much because of Night Track

Gulp - ALL Good Wishes swooning dream pop departure

Orquesta De Las Nubes - El Orden Del Azar makes me think of me of the Durutti Column having a go at Léo Delibe's flower duet (off the old BA advert).

Bel Canto - Mornixuur underrated group certainly and oh so lovely.

Belbury Poly - Clockwork horoscope think soundtrack to retrofuturist doublets and hose film.

Westbam feat. Richard Butler - You Need The Drugs when this came out I got as far as the la-di-da bit and put it back on the shelf...only to pick it back up for a more novelty suited 99p some time later.

Coil Vs ELpH - Protection with the Worship the Glitch reissue out in the wild I found myself drawn back into the narcotic tendrils of this acid trancer.

Whirlpool Productions - From: Disco To: Disco (Adam Port Remix)

Whirlpool Productions - From Disco To Disco (short original version)

Boy Harsher - Deep Well I'll be honest in saying I'd currently be struggling to hear any of the above in my office/studio if I wasn't headphoned over the STUPENDOUS floor shaking racket emanating from the family room with the big gun stereo where the under tens are fucking blasting this and I'm sadly going to have to go though and tell them to TURN IT THE FUCK DOWN because it's probably audible at the end of the Loch but mainly because I'd like them to be able to sleep without ringing ears.

Blue Boy - Remember Me Original 12' version I was always a bit of a snob about this since I know where the (incredibly noisy) samples come from but I had a gruding appreciation for the sheer relentlessness of the tune and I've enjoyed the odd wedding dance to it. So I saw the 12 in an Oban charity shop and a handful of coppers later it's mine. The busy and overy shiny Sure is Pure remixed version with the bequieted samples and video game bleeps that became a hit is comparatively pish IMO.

Miss Red - Dagga clinging to the last rays of summer.

Helena Hauff - Qualm mentholated and meditiative electronics, a real departure from her former klipptripping Sonic the Hedgehog goes hardcore early material.

Sixth June - Oh No it's Burning 6th of june on the 8th of August!

First Frankie Knuckles and then The Blueboy, you're bringing up stuff from my DJing days this week. Original version definitely the best on Remember Me, I don't think I ever played out the Sure is Pure mix.
