Re: Song of the Day Thread
Normally I only post records I've bought but consider this your four minute warning kids.
There's a new Tomorrow Syndicate ten inch out on Polytechnic Youth next week and they will sell very fast. However the label have them for sale now in a bundle with Sunray | Sonic Boom Music for the Dream Machine Phase II (Phase One if you don't know it) at the usual fair price. Or you can sashay off to Norman who also have a preorder. If you don't go round in black circles you can also buy the Tomorrow Syndicate elpee as a series of zeroes and ones from their bandcamp for close to fuck all from the 26th.
The full Shadowplay coven are in on this.
Video Evidence!
Tomorrow Syndicate - Stranger in Space (Part I and II)
2, 4, 6, 8...Motorik!

Re: Song of the Day Thread
Sunray - Music for the Dreamachine Phase II no links sadly as it's 300 only vinyl but it's fucking brilliant and usefully more gloaming than Phase One.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Michael Brook – Sweet Pain just bought the vinyl of this (Night Song) and Mustt Mustt which were originally CD only and it's an absolute delight, though the cover promise of an HQ download with a unreleased song is misleading as the inner sleeve is empty.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Sea of Vapours
Both records are must haves and if you down already have them I'd advise you remedy that pronto.
Tomorrow Syndicate - Captain I am Fading.

Minami Deutsch / 南ドイツ - Sunrise, Sunset. Deliciously minimal motorik. I bought their new one on Hoga Nord which led to me digging out the previous Cardinal Fuzz elpee.
Minami Deutsch -Can't Get There of the new un.
The Golden Filter - All the Queens
and a wonderful oldie or three
Artery - The Death of Peter X
Artery - A Big Machine obviously bending the knee to Lagartija Nick but nowt wrong with that.
Mark Gouldthorpe and Simon Hinkler - Message From A Dead Man OK this is a record almost no one seems to know bar me and my mate Matt. It's an incredible psychedelic wonder that goes through Kafka's bins.

Re: Song of the Day Thread
Still on an Artery tip.
Artery - Into The Garden the slashing guitar is superb on this killer bee and it sets off the perfect pulsing bass
Artery - Afterwards more of classic goth bass sound over on the A side but still an immense track from a mostly unsung band thats as good if not better than many of the relatively household names contemporaries.
Not everything they ever did was great, you'd often struggle to think it was the same band, there was a lot of kinda Teardrop Explodes stuff with rinky tink piano I hated (and I'd guess this is the stuff Jarvis Cocker a notable fan likes because it sounds not unlike Pulp) but when they were good they were great.

Re: Song of the Day Thread
CS + Kreme - Fresh Exit
CS + Kreme - Husk
CS + Kreme - Basic Instinct (Club Scene)
CS + Kreme = one half of Standish/Carlyon and 1/3 F ingers and they make rather wonderfully understated fourth world tinged music that's sure to appeal to fans of everything from Jon Hassell to HTRK to Visible Cloaks to Rain Tree Crow and similar, as well as anyone who likes the drum and bass side of the most subtle side of Cocteau Twins Echoes/Tiny period or thereabouts.

Jesus and Mary Chain - Reverence (radio mix) I'm currently nursing a half closed red eye after one of the kids poked me while jumping about to this. Totally worth it!
