Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard & Joan Jett
I’d pay good money NOT to have to witness that.

All four have their moments, but Joan Jett doesn’t really seem consistent with the rest of that bill. Lita Ford maybe...

I'd hang for half. It'd be cool to see a legend like Joan and Pyromania is a great powerpop record.
Pass on the Crue and pass on Poison though, not my favs.

Re: Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard & Joan Jett
I'm really surprised that Motley Crue is back at it. I mean, they did their big goodbye, and poor Mick Mars' spine is so fucking fused at this point, I can't believe he's getting up there again. I've never seen Crue. I'd like to.
I've seen Poison, and it was a really good time. I've seen Joan Jett twice. Also a really good time.
I've always kinda rolled my eyes at Def Leppard but at this point I can only imagine that it'd be a fun time listening to big dumb rock along with all the other big dumb rock, so I'm all for it.

And if this tour doesn't satisfy you, come on down for the Monsters of Rock Cruise in February. Too bad it isn't just Mac Sabbath the whole time though.

Re: Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard & Joan Jett
I could give a shit, I have no nostalgia for any of these acts I didn't care about the first time around and the decades since they were sort of relevant hasn't given them any ironic cachet, either.
The only thing I am wondering about is that Joan Jett has been covering the Replacements' "Androgynous" for some time now. I don't think much of her cover but I do have to wonder if she will bring that out on this tour. The sort of person that would see Poison and the Cruë in 2020 I can only imagine would not be capable of understanding a song like "Androgynous" any better than they could have in the 80's.
It's a laugh, is what it is.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Nope. I said what I meant. I could shit in my hand, and give it to you, and when you took it you would understand how much I care about the Cruę, or fucking Poison, and Def Leppard. As you felt the wet, warm weight in your palm, and smelled the stench, you would gain understanding:
"This is what Larry feels about these people's music. I see that now."
Some things words themselves just cannot convey. Let me know when you are ready to understand. Just reach out your hand, brother. I'll take care of the rest.

On the other hand, I could not give a shit. Why bother? Ed Sheeran sells out stadiums or whatever. Let these dinosaurs make their guap while they still can.

Re: Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard & Joan Jett
You know what I saw at the Poison concert, Larry? The one where your ex boyfriend Don Dokken (or at least his simulacrum) was an opener?
I know I've told this story here before, but it merits repeating: During "every rose has its thorn", about 12 feet to my right, this middle aged, enflabbened buttrock couple with burned up bleached hair was fucking underneath a blanket. And if you can't go to a Poison show for some big dumb rock and have a laugh at the Ricky Morton looking guy and his leathery wife rutting under the thinnest of disguises to a breakup song, something inside you is dead.
As for me, well, I just like buttrock.

Re: Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard & Joan Jett
Joan Jett still rocks it hard......I think the Nirvana stuff she did awhile back was great and she played with the Foo Fighters on some stuff.....
Motley Crue....haha...ah well....I love the first song on their first cd "Live Wire".....it's my go to drive to work song....when I pull into the neighborhood I work at I blast it at 6:00 am....WHY? Because I am a Live Wire!
I hate Poison.....
Leppard had it's time and it's just a bit sad....On Through The Night is pretty good though...
I couldn't sit through that.....

Re: Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard & Joan Jett
The funny thing about Crüe being back out on the road is the fact they’d signed a legal agreement on their “farewell” tour to really end it.
