I've heard this theory before seems sketchy.Jaguar018 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 10:51 am^ My general understanding of the "no homo" thing is that it is a joke about getting away with perceived 'gay' activity. Like if one guy sucks another guy's dick and says "no homo" at the end of the deed then it's not gay -- even though everyone knows that is gay and okay.
I'm pretty sure it's not something said out of ignorance, but I won't be surprised if some OSG soothsayer tells me the error of my ways.
Would I chose it for my user name? No, but then again, I've never smoked pot either, so I wouldn't slap that ol' 420 at the end of my name.
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Can we explore this theory in greater detail? I may need to change my profile on a few dating sites as a result.panoramic wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 5:27 amI've heard this theory before seems sketchy.Jaguar018 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 10:51 am^ My general understanding of the "no homo" thing is that it is a joke about getting away with perceived 'gay' activity. Why just theorize when you can just get out there and find out the truth? If you change your dating profile to say that you want to 'do stuff' with guys-- but no homo then you'd probably get some replies. See what happens.
The 'hesitant straight person going gay' is a classic porn trope; it's obviously a turn on to a lot of people, but I'm not sure where you're coming from or what your goals are.

Thought someone would ask, but you’d all like that too much - esp. given my life is an inadvertent (and yet, classic) porn trope. In reality I haven’t dated in years; long enough I do not know if what I think Tinder is, is what Tinder *actually* is (am married.) No doubt if I desire any sort of licit sexual adventure with persons of any orientation, I’ll make my goals so clear this forum will wish I hadn’t.

The “no homo” is supposed to be satire. It’s making fun of the hyper masculine frat guy culture we have in the US, but what’s funny about the hyper masculine and homophobic frat culture is they do a lot of gay shit ie tea bagging, smacking asses, talking about penis sizes, or participating in trains etc yet they see someone being expressive of their feeling they’re called fag etc. I just think it’s ironicly funny. Ps the 420 part is because I smoke weed.
Ps I just made this ad because I love jaguars and I wanted talk with people who also love jaguars and jam with them

It’s hard to gather the satire because the forum name is only a name. It’s hard to convey satire with it being the limited platform that it is.

What it means, is that all of the old guys that got in to offsets before offsets were cool - in turn, making them cool - are no longer cool. Nor do they understand what is cool, now. Also the word cool is no longer cool. Cool?
