This thread convinced me to start listening to Television! In general I'm more of a Shoegaze/Dream-pop kind of guy who enjoys guitar lines drenched in effects. But lately I've been getting into Viet Cong and other post-punk stuff that apparently focuses more on the playing. Television has been a great find for me so thank you!
I'm glad I'm not the only one going through it, haha. It's definitely making me think more about my playing than I have in a while to be honest.
I'm gonna check out that CBGB video soon for sure.
Also I'm really liking what I've heard of Nels Cline too

viet cong, preoccupations/women and all of that shit is all excellent. I wouldn't go so far as to say they focus more on playing but they don't cover what they are playing. Plenty of shoegaze stuff is complex...Swervedriver for one.
Television is fukicng timeless

You are right, I actually meant "double exposure" which are Demos recorded with Eno for the most part.
