Re: Low -- Double Negative
So, after listening to this album front to back at least 25 times, I think it is good but it not amazing. The previous album, Ones and Sixes, is much better imo. All the noise and glitch gets to me after a while. I love it when it is mixed with a strong melody ("Always Trying to Work it Out" -- the best song on the record for me) but it becomes grating on repeated listening. I don't think I will catch myself wishing I could listen to the songs "Tempest" or "The Son, The Sun" for example, even though they are good tracks.
I still hope to be able to see them on this tour. I will be out of town when they come around but will try to catch them in Boston.

i didn't dig the singles edit they put up on youtube (wife l o v e s it) but all the new stuff at the Montreal gig the other week was pretty great. Far more straight forward. Nothing But Heart was far too short, the bit of Kranky era was appreciated, and Murderer was a perfect encore. I guess I'm saying old school fans can go in cold and expect a great set...

Glad to hear. I guess the show you went to was along the same lines as this one, the first show from the tour. Absolutely fantastic.
