Their new record Ecstatic Arrow has been out for week or two and I was wondering if there were any other fans on here? I really liked their first album Measures of Joy which was not unlike a more (small r) rocking Broadcast but I've defintely become more of a fan over the subsequent three albums (one a collab with XAM Duo), which had seen them branch out from more obvious hauntological territory and into a simultaneously hypnagogic and hyperactive pop band roping in forth worldisms, post punk funk, day glo 80's lounge pop, low beam jazz and shiny bright tropical kosmische, all held together by Alice Merida Richards mentholated head girl vocals. In some ways you could argue they are moving into Kompakt territory and they do sometimes remind me of Rainbow Arabia or even some lost European pop band unearthed by Music From Memory.
Btw the name is derived apparently from Grace Slick's mother.
New Album
Ecstatic Arrow
Collaboration with XAM Duo
Tomorrow's Gift more languid and jazzy.
Second Album
Forward Constant Motion (at the moment I'd score this one 'just' ahead of the the new album. I ADORE it.)
First Album
Measures of joy
Wee article from the Guardian who made Ecstatic Arrow their album of the month.
Virginia Wing: the Manchester pop duo fighting the 'indie edgelord' sexists
Faced with ranks of leering male fans on tour with Hookworms, Alice Merida Richards and Sam Pillay – creators of one of the albums of the year – played in front of an ‘end rape culture’ sign
Alice also sang on IMO the best song on the new Hookworms; Hookworms - Each Time We Pass
And finally a bit of funlJane Weaver + Virginia Wing(Suzanne Menzel cover) available on the Lost Library 12’ on Fire.

Re: Virginia Wing
I just listened to "The Second Shift". I dig it! I think I'll be giving the rest of this a spin later today.
Thanks!
