This is spot on.
I've always thought of Jimmy as being kinda like Travis Barker - a drummer whose musical talent far outstripped the rest of his bandmates. Brett Reed was also like that, to a less dramatic extent. I guess it was a common 90's thing with the powerchord crowd.

From what I've heard of Iha's stuff outside of SP, he seems like a musician I more or less dig, too. I really liked his turn in Tinted Windows. It's a shame that band never went anywhere. Iha seems pretty down to earth in interviews, etc etc...
Basically I choose to focus on Iha's apparent decent human beingness rather than Corgan's many shortcomings.
