The outro to Plimsoll Punks is one of my favorite things in the world right now.

I was of 2 minds: I didn't want to buy an album I wouldn't listen to, but I also liked listening to an album the first time through when it's in hand (CD, vinyl, whatever). I got 4 songs into Antisocialism streaming on YouTube and decided to order it. Should be here by the end of the weekend. I've had In Undertow on repeat all week. SO good. Can't wait to listen to the rest of the album.

The first album, although very well done, is fairly standard issue indie guitar pop. There's a lot more gloss in the second album without losing the headlong punk charge in the faster tracks, I hear a lot of Blondie in there.

"Antisocialites" btw .. changes the meaning quite a bit ;).

I knew that! That is why Jason needs to go to bed after work ;)

I'm a bit of a completist. If I dig the first album, I'll definitely look into the second.

Just an FYI there's a bright and breezy Australian artist on Heavenly Recordings called Hatchie who folk who like Alvvays might like since she's of that world and also quite Sundays, Lush and that sort of thing. She's got a 5 track 12' out called Sugar & Spice.

Halo Maud (who was in Melody's Echo Chamber) on the same label might also appeal to some and are more my thing than Hatchie.

I have a love/hate thing with hatchie because I love the sound and hate the lyrics... They're so childish sometimes, almost sugary

Still I'd definitely recommend Hatchie to anyone who's into dream pop

i saw them live earlier this year, Antisocialities has become one of my absolute top fav records. i think i even wrote something about them here, too.

anyway, the guitar guy is definitely more into shoegaze than the band offers to exploit, he had some amazing spacey sounds live! nice gear, too. really fueled my Rickenbacker GAS.
they are meant to become much bigger than they currenlty are, but i can't imagine topping this album, really.

though, Molly didn't exactly get an amazing reply from the audience when she made fun of our cities name ("Cologne sounds like colon") and mentioned that she loves our waffles (...even the band facepalmed). oh well... ::)
i love delay SO much ...that i procrastinate all the time.
