I occasionally wonder where Stina Nordenstam is, especially as she'd released her best record and vanished. It's now been ten years since she was credited on something (Nine Horses with David Sylvian) and going on 15 years since The World is Saved. I bought one of the the vinyl releases of The World is Saved recently (it was CD only in 04) and it got me thinking about her again and wondering why such a good record was getting pressed in such tiny numbers (500).

I guess she's still alive, though she looked super frail the last time I saw a rare picture of her and must be doing something else.

I saw him play a while back & he played mostly new material. It was just him & a drum machine & I asked him when he was going to put something out & he said that he was planning on recoding the record in the fall (which would have been last year) but that has come & gone. I am hoping we get something soon!

Good question on AA Bondy! I’ve also been wondering what’s going on with David Sylvian. I read somewhere he was having health issues, hopefully they aren’t too serious and he can get back to putting out music again.

Cancelled his last tour due to a bad back. I was sad as fuck when we got the refund . He did a bit of spoken word on a release last year but seems on indefinite hiatus.

I met him through work about five years ago, a really shy and introspective man but very likeable.

I wonder about Mark Hollis. I know he left the music business years ago but I would love to find out that he has been making music all along & have him just drop a multiple unreleased albums.

That would be amazing.

Sometimes I think about that old vaudeville act, Tool. They haven’t released an album since the McKinley Administration I believe. I’m sure none of the people on this board are old enough to have heard of them but ask your grandparents and they’ll tell you.

I know, I know. “In the studio” “almost done” “definitely this year”. It’s just they’ve been saying that since 2014. My cynicism is getting the best of me and I’m taking it with a “I’ll believe it when I hear it” approach. I DO think it will probably come out sometime this year though. There was a snippet of video from rehearsals with a new song yesterday and it sounded pretty epic. Definitely Tool-esque. Heavy chugga-chugga guitars and an awesome Danny beat in an odd time signature. Looking forward to hearing the rest.

Also, Kevin Shields says new album this year. It’s been 5 years since MBV so it hasn’t been too long yet compared to how long that album took after Loveless. Wouldn’t say he’s quite “missing” yet but I’m sure a lot of people in this forum will be looking forward to that one.

She wrote some songs (1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 10) for Freddie Wadlings album "Efter regnet" that came out in 2016.

Thanks for the update, I'll look that up.

Tom Waits. Still waiting for this geezer to tour (to East Coast) so I can scratch it off my bucket list. Please, no guff. Thanks.
