I've been getting back into Hendrix after a LOOONNNGG break. My brother had "The Essential Jimi Hendrix" double album when we were in high school (around 1979) and it was one of my favorites. I'd forgotten how good his stuff is. Isabella, Room Full of Mirrors, Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)...

Valleys Of Nepture was interesting. Never listened to the second one, but this is pretty cool. From the link, I just want his lefty Guild Starfire!!! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

I love Hendrix and have a huge amount of live and studio stuff. NEW....well that is subjective. I'm sure most of this stuff is aval in bootleg form. There is a bootleg series called "in the studio 68" or something like that. It might have these songs. The best thing I heard in a long time is the 30 or 40 takes of voodoo child.....each one getting closer the song we know today.

Yeah, I'm very skeptical that one of the most famous musicians in the world, whose career spanned a few select years, could have entire songs recorded that never saw the light of day before.

I'll be very pleased to be proven wrong. I'm so sick of all the shitty music that has claimed to be influenced by Hendrix, all the riffs choppily attempted in gear reviews, all the boring "best guitarist of all time" arguments in magazines and Internet forums, but whenever I go back and listen to Jimi himself, I'm reminded of just how special he was. There's been a half-century of people diluting and perverting his music, but the magnitude of his talent is still something special anytime you listen to him.

I love Hendrix too. He had the perfect balance of technical ability and wild abandon.

Curious about this, but also kind of skeptical. There's a lot of Hendrix stuff that I think didn't see the light of day while he was alive for a reason.

"Kramer said though Both Sides of the Sky is the last of the trilogy, someone could find new Hendrix music in an attic or a basement, which could be re-worked."

- which indicates everything stored at ground level is recovered now, I guess ::)

There are tons of unfinished and half finished pieces....loads and loads of outtakes and song sketches.....

I don't think you would call these complete songs.....

PLUS....rehearsal tapes...

Buddy and Billy are still alive....let the protools (or is it Studio One 3 these days) magic begin.
