David Kilgour - A feather in the engine
I once sold him a reissue Ibanez Flying Pan. I still have an original. He gave me a copy of Falling Debris.
:) Awesome.

I don't know much of his other solo stuff, but I should because A Feather In The Engine is really lovely work. It's really comforting in the way that Yo La Tengo can be, without being maudlin. His guitar playing is great in an understated manner as well (Richard Thompson-esque, playing for the song rather than being a guitar hero).

Having been a massive Flying Nun fan in high school I've remained in awe of NZ songwriters over the years. I think one of the crowning achievements of medical science in the 21st century is keeping Martin Phillips alive long enough to write Silver Bullets.

David Kilgour is great--I love Left by Soft as well. Terrific guitar tone. "Autumn Sun" is a song I never tire of.
