Exactly! I like them, but all the songs seem to have that drifting, easy-going feeling (peaceful easy feeling?) This is very similar that 'eyes to the wind' song of theirs. Is that the title? IDK, too mellow now to check it out.

I've been hearing their songs come on pandora from time to time so just now discovering them. My take is that they sound like a dreamier version of John Mellencamp. While I hate John Mellencamp's music, this stuff is pretty good.

Love the War on Drugs. The last album really helped me get through losing my Mom.

Saw them last tour and it was dead-on. Lead singer/guitarist had a massive effects board and a smaller one. Played JM, Strat, LP, Gretsch, and maybe the Jag. Can't remember if he bought that one before or after.

Anyway, the new album is similar and just as good. If was prepping myself to be disappointed and I wasn't.

Two bits of trivia: 1) Kurt Vile (another indie rocker) used to be in the band they are still on good terms; and 2) the lead singer has been dating Krysten Ritter for years (Jessica Jones (Netflix show), Jesse's junky girlfriend (Breaking Bad)).

I love this band! Listened a lot to their last album, and I do think their latest is a masterpiece.
