Agree with all..just posting examples for fun.

Hate the out of tune bass on 'drive my car' by the beatles..

On A Night Like This by The Cure...last chorus he sings 'as before' but double tracked with 'like before' on the top so you get a blend of 'like' and 'as' at the same time.. a good 'mistake'

Had to work with the Gallaghers so the bassist walked out?

I know you like FSOL, did you ever see this? Amorphous Androgynous on Noel Gallagher: ‘He was too afraid to be weird’

It's funny that the best (or not 100% terrible) thing I ever heard from Oasis was this; Oasis - Falling Down (A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Mix) Amorphous Androgynous (even has a Julian House sleeve). Shame the singing totally ruins it.

It's an interesting read. Shame that it reflects badly on AA, I suppose people don't dig deeper in general than what Noel Gallagher says.

It surprises me that someone with an ego as big as Noel Gallagher's would be so insecure and fragile about his craft and stretching himself, I'd imagine he would dive into a project like this and not give a shit if anyone else liked it much.

I heard Noel was going to remaster and re release the album so you could hear the bass but something something ego or something.

the one i always noticed was the scream in longview - green day. after the second chorus. while i dont like green day i have to admit that was a song i quite liked because the groove is quite good.
offset guitars resident bass player.
'Are you trying to seduce me Mrs Robinson? Or do you just want me to solder a couple of resistors into your Muff?'

I take on board all the DAW points etc. But the Coldplay record in particular, they did have DAWs... have a bit of pride in your work and sort it out.

It's a bit of fun really. The fact that you can spend all that time and money and still have mistakes highlights the precocious nature of the artists I guess.

There's a great mistake on heroin by the velvets where mo tucker stops drumming two thirds of the way through. The story goes that she couldn't hear the others as they were playing so quietly, so she stopped, assuming everyone else would too. After a bit, realising no one else was going to, she started again, reluctantly. Apparently she still gets annoyed whenever she hears it.

Longview is just a good song. I'm no longer a green day fan (everyone is 12 at some point) but there's no doubt that they wrote some killer tunes in the early days.

Out of sheer curiosity I've just played the Coldplay song. Doesn't sound like a mistake to me, just bringing the song down in stages so that it can end the way it begins with a single guitar and voice.

The whole of Coldplay's output is a mistake.

On "Sloop John B" you can hear one voice say "break" while another says "broke".

In the end of the second verse Lennon’s doubled vocal screws up/says different words for the line, "now you've got a boyfriend down the street". Though Lennon is known for flubbing lyrics.
That happens a fair bit when double tracking vocals back in the old days. I think there's a couple of examples on Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and probably all over the Doors' discog (Morrison basically always DT'd his voice but didn't always remember the right words).
I remember now - 'Matilda Mother' on the regular version of Piper that was around before the more recent reissues had at least one of these double-tracked lyric mishaps BUT, on the latest versions of Piper, 'Matilda Mother' has COMPLETELY different lyrics! I was very surprised when I heard it on the radio a few weeks ago, and nobody referenced the fact that there were different words. But I guess when you're pushed for time in the studio and there's TWO drafts of the lyrics going through your mind as you stare down the barrel of the microphone, it's entirely plausible that you might slip up.

I saw this and thought of you; Coldplay’s Guy Berryman – the secret car collector.
