Does Rose McDowall belong in this thread, given her penchant for all things witchy? Maybe not so much in sonic terms.
Anyway, I notice Under The Yew Possessed, which looks more Hauntological than it sounds, got a vinyl re-release yesterday....and promptly sold out.

Most observers would call it Neofolk, since I've not heard apocalyptic folk used for some time. However in the time since it was released we've seen a lot of folk ideas being drawn into what became hauntological music, hence me including Trappist Afterland in here. Whatever the genre, it's a brilliant and much loved album for me and Michael at Night School has done the world a favour with his Rose related releases. When I first learned he was working with her I immediately let him know that I hoped they might find the time for a Under The Yew Possesed vinyl press and I'm delighted he managed to do it.UlricvonCatalyst wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 3:18 amDoes Rose McDowall belong in this thread, given her penchant for all things witchy? I think folk-pop would be a more apt description. I wonder which label Rose herself would prefer.

I was going to check Monorail, as it seems like the sort of thing they might have, but I'm annoyingly tapped out just now. Hmmm....records or food?shadowplay wrote: ↑Tue May 01, 2018 6:34 amBtw juno have copies of under the Yew Possessed in right now.

Just got this seven by Soundhog on Castles in Space.
Soundhog - Newtown Parkway
also have this on the way but not here yet; The Twelve Hour Foundation - Bunch Of Fives
There was only 50 of them but it's available on digital and I think they are going to be on the album anyway. Not unlike the sort of stuff Broadcast might have put on a tour CD.

Really love those Twelve Hour Foundation tracks....and miffed to have missed the boat on the vinyl release, as per usual.shadowplay wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 11:00 amJust got this seven by Soundhog on Castles in Space.

Yeah they are great, they are all going to be on the coming album anyway as far as I know. I only got one because I had a mate at the record fair who was good enough to wander round while on the phone to me .UlricvonCatalyst wrote: ↑Fri May 25, 2018 2:58 am
