Not having much success with these recently but here goes nothing...
I've really enjoyed the records Jonny Nash has put out over the last few years and his sparkling minimal style, which flips through the atmospheric and ambient Rolodex from 4AD, to ECM, all the way to Editions EG. A must for fans of everyone from Robin Guthrie, to Vini Reilly, to Maurice Deebank, through Deux Filles, Michael Brook and on to Phil Manzanera.
Jonny Nash
Eden LP 2017 (a bit more Fourth World than the previous two more guitar focussed records)
Exit Strategies LP 2015
Phantom Actors2012
really brilliant split seven with Suzanne Kraft; Jonny Nash / Suzanne Kraft - Cristina & Carolina / Roberto & Giovanni
Gaussian Curve
Gaussian Curve - Clouds LP 2014
Gaussian Curve - The Distance(out next week)
Land of Light
Land Of Light - Flares 2012
Land Of Light - Bell Rock Outpost
Land Of Light - Presence Of The Past / Higher Love
The remix 12's are reallly good too; Land of Light - Flares (Kuniyuki Takahashi Remix)
There's also other side projects to run down.

I'd heard the Gaussian Curve from 2014, but not any of the rest of it. I'm listening to the newer one now.
He kind of sounds like a more chilled out Fripp on these, the overall effect is like a jazzier version of the Fripp/Eno collaborations from the 80s.

Yeah there's definitely some of that in there. The new Gaussian Curve should be here this morning, I'm really looking forward to playing it.mezcalhead wrote:I'd heard the Gaussian Curve from 2014, but not any of the rest of it. I'm listening to the newer one now.

Btw if you have a moment be sure and check out the split with Suan Kraft, it has a delicious late HTRKish undercarriage bespangled with gorgeous guitar playing.

Oh yeah, thanks! that's a bit less "easy listening" than some of the other stuff, still laid back but with depth.shadowplay wrote:Btw if you have a moment be sure and check out the split with Suan Kraft, it has a delicious late HTRKish undercarriage bespangled with gorgeous guitar playing.
Lovely shimmer to the Kraft track as well.

Yes I really like the two records 'he' put out on Jonny's Melody is Truth imprint.mezcalhead wrote: Lovely shimmer to the Kraft track as well.
Btw should have mentioned earlier but Jonny plays a Jaguar if that might somehow make him more interesting to some.
