Sannhet - Young Death? It's instrumental kinda charred and charnel tourniquet tight Daydream Nation era SY or perhaps similar period Live Skull for want of a better description and in me induces a similar feeling as you get when you are half deafened by cold wind on a mountain....

I enjoyed that but was wishing for some kind of vocals in the mix. I'm not very good with instrumental bands.

It's a collation of EP's and unreleased tracks.
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

I was going to say dig out Live Skull but I added a mention of them earlier, stopped to sort out a child problem and forgot to change it.

I really like Bringing home the Bait and especially the EP that came out just before it which is more Post Punk in feel. Dusted and Positraction are more small r rocky and of course by that time Thalia Zedek had joined them. At the time Sonic Youth kinda blotted them out from real exposure in the UK but I think Live Skull were really good and arguably have better early records.

The comparison's plain to see. Not having a Kim Gordon-style vocalist has to give them the advantage, if you ask me.

Currently listening to
Dead Witches - Ouija on Heavy Psych Sounds - former Electric Wizard drummer Mark Greening and Psychedelic Witchcraft singer Virginia Monti, doing stuff which sounds pretty much exactly what you'd expect it to sound like.

Expo '70 - America Here & Now Sessions. Two sides of blown out Ash Ra Tempelesque drone halos intersecting with big bottomed psychedelics.

Lamagaia(12' in Cardinal Fuzz) I spy with my psychedelic eye... long form and pummelling mid period LOOP style hallucinatory repetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetitionrepetition. Also made me think of
Magnog for some reason or other.

Thanks David, I can quite easily imagine them playing in Nice N Sleazy's basement with my showbiz chums the Cosmic Dead.

The new Dead Sea Apes record is really pretty good if moving away from any sort of psyche heavy fuzzage and into PiL reminiscent abandoned foundry dub. The blurb mentions early Cabaret Voltaire and I can see where they are coming from.

I'm not into the culture either, but I have found myself drawn to some of the music. After doing a bit of listening to some of the usual recommendations, I haven't found anything I like better than Candlemass...already 30 years old! More heavy riff oriented a la Sabbath, less drone/noise. I suppose that's why it appeals to me. Also I want my heavy music with a bit of a self-conscious wink toward theatricality rather than serious doom. Like having fun on Halloween vs. sacrificing on Samhain.
