Clark - Honey Badger hyperactive like a problem child on a Tartrazine drip.

Clark - Snowbird I was out this morning running while it was still pretty dark and I was running up a hill to a high point with the dugs and icy snowflakes were hovering in the air and looked to my right at a copse of hazel and against the deep dark blue sky I could clearly see the silhouette of a roosting tawny owl and it was pretty magical to see. Sadly like an arse I tried to take a picture, the flash went off...and the owl flew off no doubt cursing me.

Kelly Lee Owens - More Than a Woman (Aaliyah cover) desert dusky acid flecked floor fox that totally gets the house ridin' the riddums.

Kelly Lee Owens - More Than A Woman (KLO Remix)

I've been quite enjoying HAINBACH's YouTube channel. I have no idea whether he has commercial releases out or what, but he's certainly prolific and I generally enjoy his experiments.

Today's offering, Growing Backwards is as good a starting point as any, if you fancy some aural wallpaper while you do whatever it is you do all day.

Smalltown supersound have been releasing some belting records IMO and I love Kelly Lee Owens recent elpee.

Kelly Lee Owens – Anxi (with Jenny Hval) this is a brilliant album of modernist minimal pop. I could literally listen to Jenny Hval reading the phonebook but in any ase this has a gorgeous burble before someone opens a deliious an of Donna Summer halfway through.

Kelly Lee Owens - Lucid

Kelly Lee Owens - 8 this comes on like late model Death in Vegas, which is no real surprise since it, like most of the record is engineered by James Greenwood (Ghost Culture)

Kelly Lee Owens - Keep Walking with added Daniel Avery Drone Logic.

Wolfgang Press - Raintime Spent a fair bit of yesterday playing Bird Wood Cage and it's sister 12's. Such a delight.

Moebius,Plank,Neumeier - Speed Display (Richard Fearless Metal Box Mix) pulsating autobahn hearbeat.

Agnes Obel - Golden Green genuinely ASTONISHING vocals and arrangement, this album literally sounds supernatural. Forest god power!

Agnes Obel - Stone and a live one.

Agnes Obel - Familiar

Agnes Obel - Stretch Your Eyes

and one of the remixes of the year;

Agnes Obel - Stretch Your Eyes (Quiet Village remix) just yield to it's heavy lidded tidal pull.

You know when people bandy about the old 'voice like an angel' epithet willy nilly and ill deserved? VOICE LIKE AN ANGEL! (really)

I was checking out the year end list from Gorilla vs. Bear and this was in the top 3. I listened and immediately thought "it's the kind of thing shadowplay would recommend". Sure enough, it's here.

Another artist on that list that I thought is up your alley is Carla Del Forno, though for all I know you already have all her records and a couple of threads that I missed...

Nice to see the Kelly Lee Owens record finishing so high up a list. I've been avoiding the end of years, if I told you how many records I'd bought this year you'd think me totally potty and I worry that looking at the eand of years will have me waist deep in new records, when at present i'm just up to the thigh.

I'll sound like the king of the pendants but the Carla Dal Forno record is a four track EP not an album and I see other EP's on the list. I feel EP's are a totally different thing and feell they shoudl get their own section. Btw there is a CDF thread* which was started on her earlier and still continuing bands F ingers and Tarcar.

D

*I feel embarassed that I started that thread about Tarquin Manek, it looks sexist but I chose him over Carla because he had a solo record out first. It looks a bit silly in hindsight.

Sturm und Bass! :w00t:

OAKE - Alog makes me think of blasted future industrial Popol Vuh - Herz Aus Glas. Love the smoking easternism underpinning the metallic sheer. Also makes me want to pick up an electric guitar. :)

OAKE - Abul

TOMAGA - Memory In Vivo Exposure Parts 1&2 for some reason I kept thinking of Tortoise - Djed when listening to this.

Tapan - Europa (Timothy J Fairplay Remix) totally bumpin desert traxx

Tapan - Europa

Mark Van Hoen - Enigma Codes (1984) i have the tape of this but consider me delighted at Wayside and Woodland roping this together with the archive tracks from Locust ‎– In Rememberance Of Times Past. If you told me this track was a Coil demo and I didn't know better I'd believe you.

Broken English Club - Thee Art Ov Metals this totally has me dancing my my leather shorts.

WOOB - Subterranean District

Been digging '70s synth disco this evening, including this -

Giorgio Moroder - From Here to Eternity (truncated 7" edit).

That bass interlude around the 1.55 mark provides a template that approximately 20 years later became Acid House. Off to listen to the 7 1/2 minute version now.

Yes it's a killer. I thought the Aeroplane mix was good to shake your coconuts to; Giorgio Moroder vs MB Disco-From Here To Eternity (Aeroplane Remix)

Today I am mega obsessed with the Red Axes - Nyx Tape12'. It's an all killer an no filler Christmas selection box of two new traks and two killer re-edits.

Red Axes - 5 Min (feat C.A.R.) splendiferous electro acid shot with post punk attitude that has me embarassing myself with improvised breakdancing.

Red Axes - Nyx Tape (feat Gina X) WOOOO GINA X! I super hot for this just now.

Solid Space - Destination Moon (Red Axes Edit)

X Ray Pop - La Machine á Rêver (Red Axes Edit)
