Just ordered a BYOC Tonebender MKII pcb

Post by daydreamdelay » Wed Nov 08, 2006 4:04 pm

I got a few bucks for my birthday last week and since I had to sell off a bunch of pedals recently I couldn't think of anything better to buy.  I had a hard time deciding between a basic Rat clone, tri knob Muff, and this.. ultimately I realized I've had a bunch of Rats and Muffs in the past (Green Muff currently) so maybe something a little different is in order. It should be a nice project after I finish my mosfet boost and un-rehousing my Big Muff  ::)

anyone familiar with Tonebender MKII's?

looks like I'll have to buy the kit as he cancelled my order and is no longer selling PCB's only.. I guess I shouldn't have been able to select it but apparently he missed something. oh well

That sucks. I hate it when stuff like that happens. It's kind of like when you order one part from GPR and they send you a different one  >:(

I think he was just out of the PCB's, they are back in stock now.
Why should we buy postage stamps? We can make our own.

Yeah, I ordered the Tremolo kit Sunday or Monday and I tried to order the MK2 and it wouldn't let me add it. So I wrote him and he said they were out and would be back in stock today.

No problem, I will report on here once I get mine and make it. I am going to take my time and do it right, I say that every time and I always rush it though. I just want the paint to look fantastic. I know how I want the Tremolo to look but I have no idea on the MK2.

yeah that's always a tough decision.. I was going to do a silver hammer finish with black chicken head knobs sort of like the originals, I thought that'd look pretty nice

Tonebenders are great. A friend of mine's got an original SupaToneBender - it's far out, still
pretty contoured, even on chords, unlike a muff. I have a FuzzKing that is built by the guy who
invented the ToneBender (Gary Hurst) that is a little different in design (Fasel Inductor), and
it sounds like the old ToneBenders (I A/B'd it to my friend's one). If the clone sounds just the
same, you will have LOTS of fun.
