Best pedals ever?
What are your favourite pedals in various categories?
1. High-gain distortion/fuzz
2. Low-gain/overdrive
3. Modulation
4. Delay/reverb
5. EQ/compression/etc.
6. The one pedal you couldn't live without
Mine:
1. Wampler Triple Wreck
2. Fulltone OCD
3. MXR Uni-Vibe
4. TC Flashback
5. Seymour Duncan Vise Grip
6. The Uni-Vibe. Possibly a weird choice but I love it to bits, both for its slow Hendrixy wash with the rate about 11 o'clock and the depth maxed and the really beautiful fucked-up sort of Nirvana-ish sound you get when you turn the rate to maximum and the depth to about 12 o'clock.

Re: Best pedals ever?
1: EHX Big Muff (honorable mention to a Rat. I like how they record and sit in the mix more than a Muff)
2: EHX Soul Food (its always on set to low gain so i'm not sure if it counts. I currently use a MXR Distortion + for actual OD/Distortion sounds though)
3: EHX Small Clone (I don't really use Mod effects, but keep this on the board just in case)
4: EHX Cathedral
5: Boss CS-3 (I wish it was a 4 knob Keeley though)
6: Toss up between the Cathedral and Soul Food.

Re: Best pedals ever?
1. High-gain distortion/fuzz: Throbak Stonebender
2. Low-gain/overdrive: Death By Audio Interstellar Overdriver
3. Modulation: dunno, never found something stellar here. I could use a killer tremolo.
4. Delay/reverb: Boss DD6
5. EQ/compression/etc: Janglebox
6. The one pedal you couldn't live without: I guess a light OD pedal is usually something I like to always have, that or a decent slapback.

Re: Best pedals ever?
I don't tend to lump EQ with Comp or Reverb with delay so I have answered for each of those.
1. Tym Civil War
2. Menatone Red Snapper
3. Boss TR-2
4. Catalinbread Echorec / Topanga
5. Boss CS-2 / Fromel Shape EQ
6. A good tremolo pedal. Although if I had to sell the Tym Civil War there would be tears.

Re: Best pedals ever?
With a low gain/clean/vintage amp (like a Princeton Reverb) :
1. High-gain distortion/fuzz : JHS Little Foot Fuzz
2. Low-gain/overdrive : Solidgold FX Nitro Boost
3. Modulation : Boss Tera Echo
4. Delay/reverb : MXR Carbon Copy
5. EQ/compression/etc. : -
6. The one pedal you couldn't live without : MXR Carbon Copy and a Tuner
With a dirtier amp, effects have to be cleaner.
