1- MXR Distortion +
2- TC Electronics Spark Booster
3- Does the footswitch for my Fender Ultimate Chorus count?
4- EHX Deluxe Memory Boy
5- N/A (I have a CS-3, it's pretty awful, I don't use it)
6- Probably my big box EHX Holier Grail, I run it first and use it all the time, from church to noise freak outs with my group, it's a great pedal. Especially first, before distortion. Very cool noises.

1. BYOC Large Beaver (some sort of mid control is essential on a muff)
2. DLS
3. Small Clone (I hardly ever use it, but love the sound)
4. Boss FRV-1
5. Dynacomp
6. Big Box Rat (I'd be perfectly happy to use it as my only dirt box, setting the gain to max and controlling it with my guitar volume)

Re: Best pedals ever?
Why no resurrect this thread???
(maybe there are 20 others started in the last year...)
1. Green Russian Big Muff
Though I currently use Wren and Cuff, Box of War, because the old Big Muff is a big tone sucker in bypass, and just a bit too big general. I'm also a fan of DS-1.
For some reason, I'm starting to like metal pedals for their sustain, but I don't play metal.
2. Hughes & Kettner Tube Factor
Though I currently use Analogman, Prince of Tone. It's smaller and rather versatile.
I'm thinking of getting a Supro Drive or Creation Labs Holy Fire. The problem with the Supro Drive is that I already have too many blue-colored pedals on my board (haha).
The problem with Holy Fire is that Creation Labs is a bit too much of an in-your-face Christian company. The knobs on the pedal are Gain, Overdrive, Distortion (G-O-D), even though "Gain" is really just an overall volume knob: clearly V-O-D isn't as divine. I don't Christians (do I have to say that?) but I don't like in-your-face holy-rolling ("Creation Labs"; "Holy Fire"). Holy Fire seems like a cool overdrive, and I might get one anyway.
3. A/DA Flanger
I'm a flanger fanatic. I have every major flanger you can imagine. I'm currently rocking the pedalboard friendly A/DA Flanger. The A/DA Flanger can do an excellent chorus, too. But for chorus, I currently use GreenHouse, StoneFish. For phaser I use Earthquaker Grand Orbiter. For tremolo/pan, I use Young Pedals, The Looker.
4. TC Electronic Nova Repeater
Although I currently use Empress SuperDelay and Way Huge Supa-Pus, I think the Repeater is probably a little better. I've been checking out the new Keeley Delay and Reverb station. Oh, for reverb I use Strymon Blue Sky.
5. Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone (Germanium Gold)
I like this pedal a lot, except for two things: the jacks are in a weird place, and doesn't make sense to have some jacks on the side and the power jack on top: lame. The other thing I don't like is that when I engage the pedal, the first attack is usually a bit exaggerated and whack. But then it sounds amazing after that. My Seymour Duncan Studio Bass (compressor) doesn't do that, so maybe I should check their Vice Grip.

Re: Best pedals ever?
1. High-gain distortion/fuzz : original small box RAT
2. Low-gain/overdrive : Barber Direct Drive
3. Modulation : some kinda optical trem
4. Delay/reverb : DOD 585
5. EQ/compression/etc. : Barber Tone Press
6. The one pedal you couldn't live without : a weird choice maybe, but I love my SansAmp Acoustic DI. It's a magical box that can make just about any acoustic guitar pickup situation sound good.

Re: Best pedals ever?
Not the best, but my faves...
1. High-gain distortion/fuzz : (I honestly never use it. Rat or Green Big Muff)
2. Low-gain/overdrive : Maxon OD-820
3. Modulation : Boss DC-2 (haven't tried a CE-1, though)
4. Delay/reverb : RE-201 (or DMM or AD-80 if it's gotta be a pedal)
4.5 WTF/special effect : Digitech Space Station
5. EQ/compression/etc. : Ibanez CP-9 or equiv (CPL, etc)
6. The one pedal you couldn't live without : Big box Deluxe Memory Man. I've been thinking of it lately as the "make everything sound better" pedal. Lovely "set and forget" delay pedal.

Re: Best pedals ever?
So true. I removed my DMM from my chain yesterday when moving things around and immediately put it back. It even sounds great when its off (even though it's technically always on...)cestlamort wrote: 6. The one pedal you couldn't live without : Big box Deluxe Memory Man.
