RAT's are amazing. I only discovered them in the last 6 months or so, and technically my Soothsayer is only based on a RAT, but it's such a good sounding and versatile circuit!
I got my first rat for free in 1999 and it was the first pedal I ever truly bonded with. I used to try to bond with other flavor of the week boutique dirt pedals but always ended up coming back to the rat. Now I don't even try.

What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

I don't own many right now, not many boutiques but in order of favorites:

1. EHX Holy Grail Reverb (Big Box)
2. MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay
3. Danelectro Chicken Salad Vibrato
4. EHX Bad Stone Phaser
5. Fulltone OCD
6. Proco Rat 2 Distortion
7. Boss DD-3 Digital Delay
8. DBA Fuzz War (I'd rate this higher, but it's too insane to play in the house when my wife is home)
9. EHX Soul Food (great as a boost, good low gain overdrive)
10. Boss CS3 Compressor.Sustainer (It would be top 5 if it weren't so damn noisy)

I have a Morley Alligator Volume Pedal that I love for swells, before my reverb and delay, that I love when I play in stereo.

Edit: Picked up a Whammy V in a trade. That will be moving up the list very quickly.

My top 5 are probably because they sound great in my 68' Bronco (Vibro-Champ) with my Jazzmaster at lower volumes which is how I play 90% of the time. The bottom 5 kick ass with my AC-15, or when I stereo or wet/dry both amps.

1) Malekko Ekko 600D
2) Malekko Spring Chicken LE
3) Rangemaster
4) Smallsound/Bigsound Mini

Now:

1) Rangemaster - it's just magical. On it's own... goosing other pedals... I don't know what else to say :-*
2) Death by Audio, Ghost Delay - takes care of having more than one delay on board, and it has really dirty repeats
3) Death by Audio, Reverberation Machine - dirty, dirty, dirty reverb. Mmmmmmmmm
4) Smallsound/Bigsound, Mini - zero-out the bias, dime the volume and set the gain to "broken"

I still have the Malekkos, but the DBAs are really doing it for me, right now.
I have a bunch of on/off pedals, but also have long-standing relationships with:

Distortion + (now modded)
Harmonic Percolator
Rat
SSBS, Fuck
and believe it or not, the EHx Freeze.
Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity.

In no particular order:

Boss PN2 Tremolo/Pan
Boss CS1 Compressor
Boss SD1 Super Overdrive
Arion SAD1 Analogue delay
Mooer Blue Phaze Fuzz
Ibanez BC9 Bi-Mode Chorus
MXR Phase100
North Effects Vox Repeater Clone
Electro Harmonix Holy Grail (big box version)
Jen Super Wah

Seeing this thread resurrected I wondered what remained from my original top 10. And it is only 40% intact. I'd have to say, based on what I consider essential (and what is more practical) to my pedalboard, the following pedals:

Boss PN2 Tremolo/Pan
Boss CS1 Compressor
Nobels ODR1+ Overdrive
Boss DD-6 Delay
Mooer Black Secret Distortion
Ibanez BC9 Bi-Mode Chorus
Fender Classic Phaser
Electro Harmonix Freeze
Electro Harmonix Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai
Jen Super Wah (although I admit that I use a Vox on my board coz I can run it off a PSU)

ZVEX Super Duper (could honestly replace every other dirt pedal I have)

JMI Studio 2 Fuzz (replica of the fuzz used by the Beatles on Taxman, Paperback Writer, etc. capable of creating multiple great tones)

Sovtek Small Stone / Maxon Phase Tone PT909. (can sound identical)

Ibanez AD-80 / Sitori Sonics Magnetic Repeater (can sound nearly identical)

Proco Turbo Rat

JMI or Montgomery Appliances Buzzaround clones.

Sovtek Big Muff (green or black)

Fender Blender (the king of the nastiest fuzz pedals IMO)

EHX Deluxe Memory Man (nothing sounds more like water)

Fender 6G15 Reverb Unit (does that count?)

Honorary Mentions: ZVEX Fuzzolo, EHX POG, Line 6 DL4

I don't even have that many, but my ARC Effects Big Green is all the fuzz I need, and it's earthshaking on bass. I got comments about it after nearly every show of my old band.

I also would miss my Ibanez TS-7 and my amp-fx Micro Amp clone. That's about it. Maybe that nice Behringer analog delay. I'm really into effects in theory, but don't use them much in practice.
