Barge Concepts are going to be making a clone of the Harmonic Percolator shortly. That should be interesting. IIRC evo has one of the original Interfax HPs.

the Shellac fans will go crazy over it. :)

even though Albini's use of it has been widely debated on the net

Where were you - South Austin Music or Austin Vintage?

neither, it was the late, great One World Music next to the Continental Club on South Congress. I lived 2 blocks away and was in there all the time. Workhorse Guitars was another great place to score gear at, but i hear it's gone as well.
Ah...I remember that place.  Damn shame it's gone!

There's some talk elsewhere that the Dano Fab distortion is a copy of the Harmonic Percolator...

... pinch of salt and everything, but for £15 it's got to be worth a go. Anyone shed any light on this?

Hmm, I'd believe that if I saw a comparison of the schematics maybe .. you'd think Dano would make a huge deal out of it since Interfax aren't around to sue them and the HPs are very well thought of.

Once again - I'm NOT sponsored by Dano or anything, but; many of their pedals are pretty close copies of other, more expensive ones, for instance the French Toast is almost identical to the Foxx Tone Machine (the bloke who designed it back in the 70's is now head of Dano), and the Daddy O Overdrive is the same circuit as the Marshall Guvnor. I'll dig around a bit more, and see what I can find.

Crap...all this talk of a Be Ba made me go out and buy the parts to make my own...

I wonder if I can make it as cool as the original....
