What is the coolest looking pedal you've ever owned?
for me, it was a custom-made MJM China Fuzz....I had it custom ordered in green, with an extra footswitch to change between modes.
I had to sell it to pay bills a few years back...damn it, I miss this pedal

i had a boss metal zone when i was about 16 that i completely stripped (the rubber pad too), leaving only bare, roughed up metal all over. it looked kick-ass, sounded like shit
seriously though, the small box rat/rat2 has always been the coolest looking pedal IMO.

I think the Lovetone RingStinger would be the winner here for me. It's something about the color combo and the shape.
Other than that, I think the Maxon AD80 delay I have is one of the coolest looking ever. The knobs and the square switch look so cool.

That one.
That being said, I do love the look of a Klon Centaur. Specifically, the old "gold box/centaur graphic" models. Just beautiful. Pure class.
I like some of the ZVex boxes, too. The Seek-Trem is particularly adorable.

Neat thread idea!
Ive always liked the look of the large box Electroharmonix stuff with all the sliders (Micro synth, POG, etc) makes you feel like a mad scientist....
but the two coolest ones I have right now are:
Zvex loop junky, mines got a weird paintjob on it , called "blue poppies" its blue with all these little orange and red dots, it looks wayy more beautiful than I'm describing..... ill see if i can find pics later (it must be a limited thing, it says "2 of 5" on the bottom"
and the Big Jam Space Driver, a weird little overdrive I picked up at a yard sale a few years back,
it looks just like that but with white sliders, and an orange case, and some truly AWESOME looking font that says "SPACE Driver" on it
I really need a new camera

my coolest looking pedal is probably the mutron biphase.
followed by my triwave picogenerator (meier) who is cool in a rather ridiculous way.

I love the small box RAT, but my Z Vex pedals sure look nifty:

On the subject of Super Hard-Ons, I'm kind of torn between which design I prefer.
I like the new record player design a lot, but I miss the little bee.
Should things like this even matter? Is it pointless to even think about such a thing?

I'm firmly in the bee camp, but a sparkle record player might sway me.Ursoluno wrote: On the subject of Super Hard-Ons, I'm kind of torn between which design I prefer.

That's excellent!
That'll be one of Laura Bennett's custom paint jobs. They're the sort of paintwork people either love or hate .. personally I love 'em .. the Super Duper (bottom left) is a "Pink Poppies" so it probably resembles your LoFi:burker wrote: Zvex loop junky, mines got a weird paintjob on it , called "blue poppies" its blue with all these little orange and red dots, it looks wayy more beautiful than I'm describing..... ill see if i can find pics later (it must be a limited thing, it says "2 of 5" on the bottom"
As for coolest looking effect, I'd vote for the Fender Reverb Unit if it's allowed ..
.. if it doesn't qualify as a pedal, then (as Justin says) the AD80 on top of it has its own scarred retro dignity ..

yeah it looks alot like that, except blue, and the dots seem more layered, over the black lines..... I think its stunning, like a little work of art on my pedalboard!mezcalhead wrote: That'll be one of Laura Bennett's custom paint jobs. of course it made it slightly harder to use at first, had to memorize all the controls, but its pretty straight ahead so thats no big deal...

Here's my ancient RAT:
I'm awfully fond of it and think it looks pretty sexy and grizzled.
