I admire your tenacity, and am a big fan of rehousing pedals.
Well thank you. One man's joy is another man's sorrow...or so.

I have been thinking about seeing what other fuzzrite clones are out there, but most of the current offerings aren't compelling enough. I do think Fuzzrites are probably the way to go for that sound, you just need a good deep reverb to pair with it. I've also noticed that depending on the day and hour it can sound different. One day it is missing something, but later, not changing anything, it will sound great. That's sort of the nature of fuzz to my ears.
I read exactly that before and got my "american fuzz pro" diy kit for it which sounds nothing like it if you ask me - but let's see what the "Sergio" brings in! At least one additional knob and a hi-cut switch.

Tomorrow the missing part for my 12V Surfy Bear/Surfy Trem project should finally arrive (and ´till now I used a Boss FRV-1 - so the reverb part is already convincing enough I think.
What you describe with the Fuzz was kind of the relationship I had to both my Supersonic and my back in the days only Fuzz pedal - the Blackout Effectors Fuzz Bear (not to be mistaken for the KMA's Fuzzly Bear which is an entirely different approach!)... even though it should have Silicium transistors - but yeah - it's a tone bender variant (does the Fuzz you're talking about have Germanium transistors?)...Same settings, same guitar, one day shitty (like "I'm starting to think about selling both of you!") the next day - "I love you sooooo much!"... (I still have and play both of them and love them even more! :-* )

Hey yall, I recently finished building my first board:

Image

The signal path is:
Fender MP Jaguar Bass > TCE Polytune > LS2 > {LS2 loop 1 > TCE Sub N Up > DOD Carcosa > SOA Manta Bass Filter > Pyramids(left side) > DOD Rubberneck} {LS2 loop 2 > Pyramids(right side) > EQD Westwood} > GK 400rb

I built this pedalboard to give me a noisy synthy tone blended with a more traditional overdriven bass tone with the intent of doing a two piece godheadsilo - Lightning Bolt drum and bass noise punk kind of deal, but the drummer I had in mind for that specific project is no longer available, if I don't end up finding a new drummer to do that specifically with I may end up rearranging the board just to blend the westwood and carcosa into one tone and have the rest of the pedals following in a more traditional manner.

Just finished my first 2-in-1 build. You're going to have to trust me, when I say that you don't want to see the inside.

Raaaaaaaaaaaaats nesssssssssssst  :D

It's just a personal one-off, so I'm not that concerned about it's inner turmoil - but it sounds as good as I'd hoped. First side is my gritty treble/full-boosty Ektachrome circuit and the second side is a certain sparkly, clean-boost that crackles when you turn the volume knob, but the crackle is okay with me. The smaller box is a 2-in-1 external tap controller for the DD7; and a "stop" button for the RC.

One silver lining note is that you've probably learned all the ins and outs of each effect and how they react to each other and each piece of your rig. I am like you. I've had the same board going on about a year and a half. Just when I get frustrated with one of my pedals and think I need something else, time goes by and I find some magic. I'm not saying I'm going to keep it all, but I am maximizing my ability to use it

oh yeah. it's weird but having a shiny new toy is cool but i know what all this does to the point where the only ways some of it could be better is with very minor tweaks.

Just took delivery of the Volante today and spent a few hours noodling around with it. Really dig it so far! especially the Sound on Sound features.

I was wondering if the Volante was as big as an Eventide pedal, looks like it is. You should post your findings in the Volante thread.

the silverface fender is a 72 bassman with added master volume. recently recapped it. sounds killer. the cab that it's running is a marshall mg4x12 i got locally for £20. the other amp is a fender deluxe 90. they were a fet amp from the late 90's designed to emulate a blackface deluxe. sounds kinda close but really it's just a big ballsy clean amp.
