Here's my current setup. Haven't rewired them yet, but I'm happy with the aesthetics and accessibility. Any thoughts or tips? I just recently got into pedals after 10ish years of using no pedals, then 5 years of just using a DS-1. Getting this far has been so many headaches (I went through 3 pedalboards before I found one that suited my needs), but I'm finally incredibly happy with my setup. Lots of hours of research and saving up went into it!

Fender Starcaster Reissue >TC Electronics polytune 2 > Fairfield Circuitry The Accountant > Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop Overdrive V2 > MOOG MF Boost > Montreal Assembly Your and You're > Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water > Strymon Flint > Strymon El Capistan > Montreal Assembly Count to Five > TC Electronics Ditto > Strymon Deco > Roland JC22

I’ve tried a zillion pedals, but I’ve narrowed it down to this.

Compressor is almost always on - I’m a thumbpick and nails guy - and I have the BED on most of the time too, either for slapback or as sort of fake modulation in the non-Exhoplex modes. Everything else is season to taste.

First guitar pedalboard in years. Can't even remember when I built my last one, especially one that was actually used in a band.

TU-2 into DIY Foxx Tone Machine into modified BD-2. Made for Punkrock.

...well, you could say that escalated quickly... I put together a new effects setup for my recently started solo project:

The music I'm doing right now seems to be influenced by Can, Harmonia, Fat Boy Slim, Air and heavily drug infused Berlin techno parties at 8 o'clock in the morning. I'm having fun. 8)

LOL, that'll happen ;) Looks like some cool stuff and sounds like great fun to me.

I just wired up a refresh of my purple board tonight:
Image
guitar > PolyTune Noir 2 > The Accountant > K-loop 1 [Omicron Phase > Olympia] > K-loop 2 [Modele B > Double Rock!] > Operator ?! [Faux Tape Echo v2 > Julia > Starla > Aurora] > Buffered Splitter > amp(s)

The notable new ones on this board are the Starla and the Olympia. Haven't got to give them the truly proper run through yet, but so far they seem very promising.

I was really close to grabbing a Starla last year when I put together the first iteration of the purple board but I managed to resist. The combo of Prymaxe having one available at "demo" pricing (which was weird when it came to me w/ the box and bubble sock packing material fully sealed and zero evidence of use, but I'm not complaining especially for ~$80 off the new price and the same warranty/guarantee :D) and my irrational need to update this board finally got me to pull the trigger. It doesn't seem to be trying for amp trem sounds but has a nice funky but clear character of its own and a whole lot of range on the depth and speed w/ very nice tapers on the knobs. I didn't even realize it had a duty/tilt adjustment until I looked at the manual, seems like it opens up a good number of possibilities for tweaking the character, not as much as the Sonar or Gravitas, but I think it will probably be a bit easier to tweak on the fly than them if I can figure out how to get a low profile knob onto the trimpot.

I grabbed the Olympia used on Reverb based on my growing love for the Shigeharu IC Fuzz I've had for a year or so and my general impression that this was like a stripped down pre-cursor to the Shigeharu. Seems like it will indeed wind up providing a very similar tone and texture (jagged but creamy w/ a really nice and distinct attack and a lean and punchy low mid) and gain range (Rawk! to nuclear meltdown) to how I generally like to dial the Shigeharu w/ all the same chord clarity and lack of noiseyness. The Omicron Phase into the Olympia fuzz seems particularly great to me for a pretty good range of sounds from pseudo studio Hendrix to a heckuva weapon of psychedelic mass destruction.

I'm liking all the loops alot so far and they seem to stack very well too. The time mod loop gives me a nice break from the bucket brigade into amp trem box into spring reverb box combo I'm usually playing around w/.

Boss CS3 > Montreal Assembly Count to Five (delay, looper, appregiator, magic box) > Montreal Assembly Your and You're (Nasty Silicone Fuzz with a filter that makes the tone knob essentially work like a wah pedal) > Montreal Assembly Positive (Hotcake Clone, based on the early circuit) > Taiwan DS1 (there should be something better here, but it's kind of a classic in its own way) > Maxon Analog Delay (<3) > Easy Vibe (univibe clone thing but with a couple filters) > Ibanez Bi-mode Chorus > Montreal Assembly 856 for Zellersasn (looper that does a million things I'm still trying to scratch the surface of) > PreAmp (Peavy Classic 410 from the mid-90s) > Old Voodoo Labs Tremolo (in the effect loop) > PowerAmp.

Things I want to find homes / need to get power adaptors for: Green Box OG Swollen Pickle + Ditto looper (b/c sometimes you just need 4 minutes of looping without messing with it).

I currently use this setup, but I have problems with digital noise from the TC Electronic pedals...

Only when I go into my old amp though, not into my DAW. My amp is an old 67 Vox Pacemaker. Will a newly produced amp solve this? Any other recommendations?

Guitar- > Tuner -> Quattro -> out of send from Quattro to DM4 -> Microsynth -> back into Quattro return -> Delay -> Reverb -> Looper -> Radar -> Amp or DAW

I have recently noticed a subtle, but once you hear it you can't unhear it, high pitch whine that I think is coming from my Hall of Fame. Sucks because it's a fantastic pedal! Might need to just have it on an isolated power supply, I'll have to do some troubleshooting.

:squint:

I hate crap like that. Hope you get it sorted. I had to get rid of my RE-20 Space Echo pedal because it was making this subtle sweeping high pitched noise that matched its LED light, even with an isolated power supply that I could not unhear either. >:( Since then I've bought and sold like ten more delay pedals. That one issue cost me thousands of dollars! :jacked:

My digital noise sounds like cats fighting in a wind storm. I have a good power supply there. Doesn´t help. I plan on testing it out on a friend´s new amp. One problem could be that the amp is set for 110V because it is from the USA, like me, but now I have it plugged in here in Europe where we are 220. 230? I don´t even know. I have to use a transformer to convert up. Plus my house is about 110 years old. And I play in the basement. So there is a lot working against me.

I tested all the TC pedals individually. Every one adds a little noise. All three together are unbearable.

i get quite a bit of noise from my ditto looper. it tends to depend how good the power in the room is.

Here's the end result aka the actual board I built:

The blue one on the far right with the many controls is a Into The Unknown fuzz/synth/octave/noise thing and what looks like a Ibanez WauFuzz in the middle is only the enclusure with a Vox Repeat Percussion inside but you can control the speed with the pedal. I'm very happy with this setup.

Well, though I'm a bit flattered by your interest I'm afraid it will take some time. I want to release it as an ep with 5 to 7 tracks (I'm too old-school to just put single tracks in the internet) and have just 2 tracks nearly finished, yet. I've got a family, 2 kids, a job and a touring band so I don't think I will finish the ep before summer.

Cool man. No problem. I have a similar situation but I still manage to get some stuff on tape now and again. https://soundcloud.com/user-371838230
Good luck with your project. What is your touring band called?
