Re: your effects setup?
It was a love/hate relationship but it wasn't being used during downtime so I flogged it for much needed $$$, same with my dd-500 and a few others. The rubberneck had the best modulation I'd ever heard and pushing the input did amazing things but I just prefer digital delay generally speaking and was only using it for two songs, one song is going to be hard to replicate the sound I was getting from it though, we'll see. If we don't have at least a single out by the end of the year then feel free to throw a pedal at my head. x)
If OSG has tort me anything...

Re: your effects setup?
That's too bad, but I get it. I've got a few pedals I keep debating myself over keeping or not. They don't get used a ton, except when I really want that sound badly (EQD Organizer comes to mind). The money would be nice too, as I could put it towards other stuff...soggy mittens wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 8:51 pmIt was a love/hate relationship but it wasn't being used during downtime so I flogged it for much needed $$$, same with my dd-500 and a few others. Re: your effects setup?
Finally, after over a year (several years actually) of researching, testing, buying, selling, replacing, rearranging, etc... I think I have something I can live with for a while.
The signal chain is the 2012 Marrguar (or 66 Mustang) into the Boss tuner -> MXR Super Comp -> DIY Plexi in a box -> MF Drive -> MF Chorus -> DIY Phaser -> Timefactor -> Immerse -> Ditto X4 -> Mooer Radar -> 1996 Marshall JCM60 112 (or 67 Vox Pacemaker or old multitrack recorder.) The Radar is for recording. It´s always bypassed when I play into an amp. The Timefactor and Ditto X4 Looper are Midi-synced with the clock in coming from a drum machine. It´s all powered by a Carl Martin Pro Power 2 which is underneath.
This is a great setup for Punk, Rock, New-Wave, "Krautrock," Ambient, or pretty much anything I like to play.
I recently bought the pedalboard, which is a Rockboard. I am really satisfied with it.
Ok I will stop bothering you now.

Re: your effects setup?
Nice looking set up Jon!! I myself use a Ditto X2, but I've been tempted by the X4 a bit as well. How do you like it?

Re: your effects setup?
Hey thanks! I like the Ditto X4 a lot. It reproduces exactly what I put in. The two loops thing is great. With the serial or sync functions it works like a little two-channel mixer. The effects are good, though I mainly use the reverse and half-speed. The tape stop sounds good too and I have used it on a few recordings. I don´t really bother with the loop storage/recall functions.

Re: your effects setup?
That's how I am as well. The X2 has some save functions that I don't use, but it's cool. I had an original Ditto, but really just wanted the dedicated stop button instead of different patterns of footswitch presses. The effects were just a bonus, though. I thought this trick was really neat and am curious if it works on the X4...JONFROMJERSEY wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2019 11:03 pmHey thanks! I like the Ditto X4 a lot. It reproduces exactly what I put in. The Stop button works as I would expect. It stops everything dead. This is the only TC Electronic pedal I have kept and I have had the HOF2, Alter Ego, Flashblack X4, and Triple Delay. The Midi syncing is great and forgives my timing problems.

I've never messed with MIDI anything. Pretty easy to use with that?JONFROMJERSEY wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2019 11:31 pmThe Stop button works as I would expect. It stops everything dead. There are some things to think about with MIDI but for the most part it is pretty plug and play. I only use it for clock syncing but you can use to control a lot of functions in digital pedals. I have a clock running from my DAW thru my drum machine and then into the Timefactor and then thru to the Ditto X4. All synced up.

Re: your effects setup?
That's awesome. I watched a video for the Ditto X4 last night, and I might have to upgrade my X2 to the X4. It's got some pretty cool features...

Re: your effects setup?
I feel like I have this working really well. I made a few updates - mostly just to make a bit of room, so I don't have to do as much tap-dancing while playing/singing.
Chain is: Pitchblack > AUX OD+clean > hidden KLON buffer underneath > DD7 > RC1 (AUX tap/remote that controls both) > Sea Machine > Spring Chicken > DE7 (always-on, set like a warm, quiet tape delay gurgling away between songs) > Freeze > Hummingbird
I don't use a lot of distortion, but we're quite noisy - that mostly comes from the amp reverb being on 10 and everything overloading the signal. The OD and clean boost are mostly EQ-shaping with a touch of grit, and more loud. This board does the thick, dark, noisy, cold and clang-y, damp cellar thing really well!

Interesting. And you play primarily mid 70s Clapton covers?

Re: your effects setup?
I think I've got a pretty a pretty good idea of what I'm going to try for the pending refresh of my Surf/Seafoam green board once the Detroit Casket shows up and figured I'd share the mockup while I wait:
Thinking the signal path will be setup thusly:
guitar(s) > tc PolyTune Noir 2 >
OneControl 1Loop (right, OD/boost) { Fairfield Circuitry Modele B (dialed pretty much all for sag and clean boost) > Nocturne Ubangi Stomp > Nocturne Detroit Casket (probably w/ the knobs swapped for some black ones I've got on hand, I'm already pushing the limits of my color OCD )} >
OneControl 1Loop (middle, phase/vibrato & fuzz) { Walrus Audio Lillian > Lastgasp Sooper Fuzz 46 } >
Nocturne Mystery Brain > OneControl Junction Box { hooked up to the amp input & FX loop send or jumpered when not using an FX loop } >
OneControl 1Loop (left, amp trem & spring) { solidgoldfx Surf Rider III > solidgoldfx Stutter-lite} >
JHS Buffered Splitter > amp(s) or FX loop return
I still wish I could get the out of the preamp and the in of the echo on the Mystery Brain available so I could hit the front of the amp w/ the Brain and have the Mystery in the loop and individually switchable from the rest of the loop, but I wouldn't be surprised if this would change the overall sound of the whole pedal if it was laid out that way rather than as an FX loop for the echo side of the pedal (as it seems to function on my v4).
Not sure if I'll wind up reversing order the fuzz and OD loops, just have to see how they all play along together.
I might swap the Ubangi Stomp for the Wampler Ethereal (first in the FX loop chain) that I've got on the current iteration of this setup if it turns out I don't need another dirt pedal aside from the Detroit Casket and Sooper Fuzz. I think I might miss having a longer delay available on a stomp switch for shoegaze-y stuff, noodling around, and space jams
Edit: LOL, now I've talked myself into this setup so just go ahead and forget the last one :
Assuming I won't need the stacking clipping and boost of the Ubangi Stomp (and I can always dial in some nice translucent clipping w/ the Modele B if I need it), it's more balanced and seems to flow better for me and will let me delve further into the final frontier/next plane of ascension if the occasion so warrants it
