The Somersault is amazing. I can't recommend it enough.
Comparable to any other types of chorus (wet/lush like early boss, digital-sounding), or just it's own thing?

The Trem Coder is super cool too, it does really weird, and very traditional sounds, and it sounds great doing both. The only thing that's a little bit wacky on it is the tap tempo/on off switch being combined. If you need to go from no trem to trem immediately on (say kicking on the trem when you get to the chorus of a song) you can't really do that, you have to tap in the tempo and wait a second before the fx starts.
I love all the stuff it can do, but the footswitch setup is one thing that gave me pause. It really needs to be in an enclosure like the Somersault and other Caroline pedals, with 2 switches I think. It would work really well if you had a bypass loop switch for it, that way you could set it and actually turn it on or off without messing with your sound.

The Somersault can do that lush 80's chorus sound, but it also does quite a few other sounds. There's a couple of good Youtube videos on it. The combination tap tempo/on off switch on the Trem Coder is a bit of a bummer I agree. I knew that might be an issue when I bought it though.

I really want to try both. I'll be looking for a tremolo for my bass board. I bought the Parabola for bass, but I liked it so much on guitar, that it bumped my EQD Hummingbird off my guitar board. The Hummingbird isn't doing much for me on bass so far, but we'll see.

My old photos no longer work due to TinyPic going under so I thought I would reshare with my most recent updates. First board is mostly for at home noodling and experimentation these days, and the second smaller board is what i’m using for my current project.

Thanks for the kind words! I’m absolutely in love with my “minimalist” board, and as amazing as the big board is, it’s been just kind of been sitting unused.
I built the small board from some left over pedals that I wasn’t using in order to have a smaller board for quick rehearsals, but started liking the size so much that I went all-in on it and added the Double Barrel and the Vagabond. There are some really incredible tones in there.
Typically, i’ll be running this board into a ‘64 Ampeg Jet, with the preamp of the Belle Epoch Deluxe always on it has this incredibly warm compression thing that happens so easily and naturally. Just so much fun.

That's a great setup overall! This into the Ampeg Jet is just awesome I bet. I've been meaning to put together a little minimalist board myself. Part of me wants to make some little shelves for pedals I'll always keep, but not always use (like the pedals on the back wall of the That Pedal Show "stage"), and part of me just wants the large board, since I only play at home.

Speaking of small boards, here's my updated bass board. The theme is neutral colors and terrible fonts.

Image

I tried it with guitar last night and it confirmed I don't really like the Tone Press on guitar. I finally got the Vintage Microtubes dialed a little better for guitar, but it's not ideal. Both are great on bass though.

Just finished assembling this tiny pedalboard today. I've had this PedalTrain Nano sitting around unused for ages. I also don't use these pedals on my main board but don't want to get rid of them. The signal chain is IN -> PolyTune -> JB-2 -> Particle -> Avalanche Run -> OUT:
Image

I built a 4x TRS patchbay into the board (right hand end). In, Out & 2x Expression pedal inputs connected to the Particle and Avalanche Run. I had to solder up some TRS cables for the EXPs as I didn't have anything that would work in such a small space. There's also a bridging plate under the Tuner as it doesn't really reach over the gap otherwise:

The External patchbay on the side of the board:

I had to cut a section of the board out to fit the PSU up against the end (these PSUs work fine without modding the board if you place them closer to the centre):

It's a fun little set up ;)

Echoing other comments, great work Natthu.

I've simplified my main board down to a PT Nano (TU-2->CS-2->RV-2->Strymon DIG), but was thinking of picking up a second Nano for some of my more experimental pedals that were orphaned with the par-down...the patchbay idea is genius, I'm already entertaining all the possibilities of a patchable modular Nano x2 setup!
