Thanks for sharing your plans Sid. I learn so much just internalizing how you're using your board and the various switching options you'll end up with.

As of today... I sold an old Telecaster and bought the pricey phaser and OD. This should keep me going for a while, until I see something else I want...

I couldn't wait for the Detroit Casket and went ahead and transplanted the bits of the surf/seafoam setup over to the PT Jr. this afternoon:
Image

Aside from the Voyager still seeming a bit opaque/thick/chewy for what I'm looking, the whole setup really clicks for me for a broad range of applications so far. It's giving me great surf/noir/pasketti sounds, awesome searing light glitch/octave fuzz, and seems to have amazing potential for noise making and shoegaze-y sounds. Sounds pretty good for heavy stuff too, but isn't quite there on the bite/attack yet for the OD sounds.

NIce and tightly packed!! Looks epic!!

I was wondering something. I know you really like the One Control loop switches. Do the ones you have do trails (or do they make one with trails that you know of)?

EDIT: Still curious if yours do, but nevermind about the other part. I found out that they DO make a FX loop box with trails (and phase inversion, and buffer, and wet-dry mix): One Control Mosquito Blender. I want one

EDIT 2: Are the switches a soft-click footswitch?

Thanks!

Out of the ones I've got, I think just the Tri-loop does trails in one of it's modes but I'd verify that. It also has semi-soft switches. I've used the unbuffered ones w/ clicky switches a lot more more often just because they seem simpler and have worked well. I've had my eye on one of the newer Mosquito Blenders for a few though.

Let me know how they are if you happen to get one before I do. I'm thinking one for gain and one for delay would be perfect. It looks like they have made 2 different versions. I saw a picture of what I think is an older one on Prymaxe, with a single knob for wet-dry. I think I prefer a single knob for wet-dry instead of one for each, but it's not a big deal. Plus, the older one doesn't have the trails which is the big feature I want more than anything else.

On a little 2 for 1, I threw this one together this evening on the Metro 24 the surf/seafoam setup was living on:
Image
guitar > PolyTune 2 Noir > 1 Loop box, right [ Tractor Beam > Unpleasant Surprise > Barbershop Millennium > Zeta DLX ] > Mystery Brain > Junction Box [ A > amp input; B < amp loop send ] > 1 Loop Box, left [ Ghost Echo > Alien Echo ] > BJF Buffer > amp loop return (or w/o amp FX loop, jumper the Junction Box & > amp input)

Many a cool sound being had :D

Brain + boost of the Zeta gives a hyper detailed saturated to edge of breakup clean w/ the Abby and/or the Barbershop for a little some thing extra. The distortion side of the Zeta has a fair amount of fizz into the TremLord until it's dialed back to blues OD levels, but it sounds cool for semi-cheesy soloing and trashy '80s hardcore sounds w/ the gain up. The Unpleasant Surprise continues to astound w/ its range and polyphonic clarity given the limited and funky control set and how insane it gets when in ugly, spitting mode and I love the Tractor Beam feeding it (really feeding anything). The second loop has a ton of spooky space ghost/cyborg serial killer vibe when dialed up and straightens up well to more of a subtle air of impending doom when dialing back the creepy before hitting some more neutral character at minimum weird.

I remembered to take a shot of the undercarriage too:

I've been wanting the Unpleasant Surprise for awhile now, just hoping to find one for a good price.

It's a great little fuzz box IMO. I don't think I've had a fuzz that would get this deliciously crazy while also working great for chords and rhythm stuff :-*

Pretty much wrapping up the spring pedalboard overhauls, I rekajiggered the purple board tonight to get the Timmy & Deluxe Plus on here:

;D I really love it. I was a massive El Capistan worshipper and the Volante is like an expanded and refined version of that.
