Here's the full shebang:
Board-by-board:
Here's my current live/main/rehearsal board. The "Shake Board". It started with the idea for an "all-mini" board, but a few of our songs required the DD-5. Then I got carried away with fuzz. Each one has a necessary place in our set, for what that's worth. It covers all the scuzzy, surfy, psychy garage punk I need for the band. Three fuzzes is probably overkill, but SFW. I need something that tears people's heads off in a loud-as-fuck two-piece. And I could plug direct into a PA with this and still sound pretty much like me.
This next one was formerly my main board. A.k.a. "The Bentley Board", because it's tiered like the old "Crystal Castles" arcade game. Three tiers of shoegaze madness. It's currently missing the FY-2 and Superfuzz that used to live there, but they were needed elsewhere. So I rejiggered the first tier and fed it the Torn's Peaker instead. The Fender Blender is the scariest sound I own. This board's also so fucking heavy (3 layers of planks at the summit) that it isn't worth dragging to rehearsal until I get a dolly. "For Recording Only". Unless it's a REALLY good gig.
"For best results, use a Bass VI or acceptable substitute." Needs an RV-2. But a mighty little beastie on its own. One day I'll have an all-Boss board of some kind. Full on Peter Hook and Simon Gallup if you wanna.
"Retro Board"/"Dad Board": some boxes that didn't have other permanent homes. Together, they're pretty much a "classic '70s" sound into about any amp. Good for when I eventually end up playing Dad Rock. I'm just kidding. There's absolutely nothing on this board to sneeze at. Maybe not my style, but not a dud among them.
"Special Teams". They don't get brought out often, but when they do, it's usually pretty great.
Orphans. For now.
The Island Of Broken Toys. I plan on getting these fixed. One day.
What about the rest? I play this guitar, through the rack/amp behind it...
... or through this beat-to-hell-but-still-howling beauty. A Bassman Ten, closed-back, 4x10, 50W. Good, clean, dark, and loud.
Sure, there's still things I want, but I've got just about anything I've ever wanted. If I can't make the music I want to make with this, I'm doing something wrong.
