Very nice. I really dislike cliff jacks, but the rest of the build is gorgeous.

Thanks guys!  I like cliff jacks in builds like this because they look great (IMO) and I know I can make them fit perfectly over the pots without anything touching.

WOW! very nice build, are these standard 16mm alpha pots? or they have extralong lugs?

Great builds everyone.  :)

Does anyone know if the BYOC tremolo is too hard for a first 'build'? Because it would be my first kit, I'd get the confidence booster with it for free so I could practice a little, but I still don't want to throw away €60 if I ruin it. I have no problem soldering new switches and stuff into guitars, but I certainly wouldn't say I'm a really neat solderer, more like a sloppy one, but I'm working on it  ;). Or would it be a good idea to start off with the 250+, I heard that's the simplest kit but at the same time I want something I'll actually use and I'm quite satisfied with my dirt boxes. I'm gassing badly for a tremolo pedal so it'll be likely that I'm going to use it.

Standard 16mm with the short solder lugs from Small Bear...  http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=692

I had to wire up the 5k for the boost side with a solder lug pot because I inadvertently drew up the schematic with it working backwards.  :(

Wonderful stuff, simply wonderful, I'm jealous :)

My friend (who has an electronics engineering degree) and myself (who burns himself changing pickguard screws) are looking to get into a first project, and at the moment I'm thinking a RAT clone (because I don't have one.. and want one). Do you know if anyone offers a kit of the stock RAT? I'm aware of the BYOC with the mods, but I was looking more for the original so I could just learn on something a bit simpler. Ideally I'd like to have it fit in the MXR style enclosure, nice and small :)

Anyone aware of such a kit?

I've never seen a RAT kit that will fit in a 1590B.  General Guitar Gadgets has a standard kit that fits in a BB (4"x3" approx.). If you want smaller you'd have to lay it out and etch yourself probably.

I just got my BYOC Rat in the mail yesterday, doesn't look too complicated.  I'll get back to you on that though... :P

BINGO!
Now I've to choose how to draw my pcbs on eagle..I could mount them by those pots, by the 3pdt switch or maybe using both (if they are equally tall)

Unfortunately they are not equally tall.  :(

I do use Eagle to do the layouts since I'm pretty sure its the only thing that will work on the mac.  If you haven't already download the parts library from gaussmarkov.net for sure.  It makes finding everything a lot easier.  I also use a couple parts from this sparkfun library from time to time...
