Voila....
Ignore that its a bit messy, ive been trying to troubleshoot all day by swapping parts in and out.

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
it looks right in the picture, but i cant see the legs of the 2nd transistor. but the schem did show them physically facing the same direction, but the emitter, base, and collector are in different positions. make sure the legs go to the right posts based on what they are, not physical picture.
other than that, it actually looks like a great build and I cant SEE anything else that could be wrong. if the transistor doesnt work out, your best bet is to get a DMM and start at signal and follow it til it stops.

What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

Yeah i've checked and double checked and triple checked those as i've done that before on another build, they are definitely in the correct positions, i'll go get my meter i guessFightingPlankton wrote:it looks right in the picture, but i cant see the legs of the 2nd transistor. but the schem did show them physically facing the same direction, but the emitter, base, and collector are in different positions. make sure the legs go to the right posts based on what they are, not physical picture.

Re: The D.I.Y. thread.
The readings seem ok from what ive seen others post
Its weird because its not like the pedal sounds voltage starved or anything like that, its as if its working perfectly just with en extremely low output volume. I swapped in 2 2n5088s and got a very gated sound (at the same low volume) which is what I expected as 2n5088s tend to do that. Swapped a fresh set of 2n3906s back in and its back to a very regular high gain fuzz sound just at the low volume. Surely if it was a voltage issue the pedal would sound gated?
So frustrating

Surfy bear! We'll see if I'm finally able to finish anything
The plan is a short, subtle spring reverb, enclosed in a Hammond box. Instead of the hideous RCA in/out to the reverb tank, I'll be using 1/4" outs - so four 1/4" outs total, possibly all along the top of the box. Will look pretty ordinary I guess. Going to mount the super short tank (1AB2B1B) along the underside or back of my pedalboard - whichever sounds best I suppose.

Yep! Cheap ink stamps. Feel like a bit of a cop out when I see some of the incredible work in this thread though!kosmonautmayhem wrote:^ how did you do your lettering?

I believe I just bought this set? Or something very similar:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/194784985/ ... Aos48P8HAQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Holy butts, that url is insanely long. sorry.
But yeah. Just those and a permanent ink pad! I was worried about the letters rubbing off but so far the footswitch I made and have gigged with for about a year? Or so, is still intact, not faded really. So yeah!
Side note, I initially bought them for the pedalboard I made a while back! Wanted to give it a little flair, I suppose. Turned out alright!
