Trem pedal with expression pedal input?
Is there such a thingy?
I hear a few tunes, where it sounds like the trem is changing in intensity.. (JAMC and SPACEMAN 3)..
Or is it the drugs?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any trems that actually have an expression option.

Roger mayer voodoo vibe has an expression pedal connection. It's a fantastic (pricey even for a three in one vib/trem/chorus) pedal, that does modern and innovative as well as the expected retro tones.

I know that the "Opto Trem" and "Bias Trem" models on Line 6's MM4 respond to input intensity, meaning the harder you strum or pick, the faster the tremolo rate. I assume that's basically what you've heard on those recordings.
Sorry to not answer the question you asked; just trying to keep a brotha informed. ;)

Don't think it was that, unless they compressesd the signal after the trem, as it doenst seem to be any harderLoomer wrote: I know that the "Opto Trem" and "Bias Trem" models on Line 6's MM4 respond to input intensity, meaning the harder you strum or pick, the faster the tremolo rate. Maybe you're right. It was really sensitive, tho. I remember the effect being pretty varied by small changes in attack. If you get a chance, check it out sometime.northern_dirt wrote:

Re: Trem pedal with expression pedal input?
I would suspect that most of the Spacemen 3 trem sounds were from manually changing the speed on the amps and keyboards that they used.
For the at least one JAMC record (Munki) I know that a Lovetone Wobulator was used:
http://www.lovetone.com/wobulator.html
I've used a Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe for 10 years now and as Shadowplay mentioned, there are expression pedal jacks (send and receive) built in. I use an Ernie Ball volume pedal to control the speed change. There is a smaller, cheaper version available now, but the expression parameter, along with the symmetry a few other controls were left off.

the spacemen 3 trem changes, yeah I figured they were doing it by hand but was hoping not.
I think the JAMC song im thinking of is off either barbed wire kisses or the sound of speed..
Which would make the line 6 idea impossible.. shit, ill figure out which albumn tonight..
They were prolly doing it by hand too.. pff.. its such a cool effect, it should be standard on
trems.. just like it should be a standard option on all delay pedals..

Re: Trem pedal with expression pedal input?
There's an amazing article on geofx explaining how to do it yourself. You can really add an expression pedal to any pot on any effect if you want. And it's really fucking easy. I'll post the article when I have some more time to dig it up. All the tremolos I've tried with the expression pedal built with it sounded pretty lame. Adding one to your favorite tremolo is the way to go.
Adding expression pedals to analog delays is beyond sex.

not quite the same thing, but a tremolo probe, I know effrrim from a silver mount zion uses one, on the track more action less tears I think you can hear the tremolo changing and I can only guess he is using it
