Boss FZ-1w - Anyone else pick one up?
I've been on a bit of a Boss kick the past year or so and been really impressed with some of the pedals I've picked up. Between that and my ongoing fuzz addiction, I picked up one of the new Waza fuzzes as soon as I could. It came in around NYE, been busy and other excuses but finally plugged into it today and I'm in love! It's not nearly as aggressive as a bunch of other fuzzes and almost straddles the line between distortion or OD and fuzz, kinda like the AnalogMan AstroTone but more fuzzy. It really handles chording very well and sounds quit massive. I've been playing with it all morning with my JM, a DM-2w and my Bassman.
I haven't even made it to the Vintage/Modern switch yet. I've just been using it in Vintage and it's way more flexible than I expected.

I'm curious about this one, as there's a useable sound in each mode and its reasonably affordable. It also sounds similar to a couple of different fuzzs, without being an exact clone, which in this day and age is somewhat refreshing.
Still hanging out for a Waza FZ-2 though.
Off topic, but that front panel on your Bassman is killer.

Thanks Z! Nice to see you again over here. Any reason why I can't edit my posts in this sub? It does seem to just be certain subs.

No probs!
I usually lurk nowadays keeping an eye on stuff...but I've had some more spare time to participate a bit more this week.
Hmmm...not sure why you can't edit stuff...let me look into it...

It does seem to be something completely different while not being extreme at all. It's just a really good sounding, all-rounder fuzz.Veitchy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 1:58 pmI'm curious about this one, as there's a useable sound in each mode and its reasonably affordable. Kinda makes me laugh, if you told me a year ago that one of the hottest fuzz pedals to hit the market in 2021 was a SMD build fuzz made by Boss, I'da thought you were crazy. If you told me how good it was gonna be, I'd think you were nuts. A Boss FZ-2w would be killer too, I guess we can dream. I have a deep and abiding love for octave fuzzes of all stripes and colors.
One of my favorite visual artists has long been Hokusai and I've been attached to his art and style since Weezer dropped Pinkerton. I have a print of the original image from the Pinkerton album hanging in my dining room! Anyway, a few years ago I started on a 6g15 Reverb build and... haven't quite finished it yet. It's in a semi-permenant limbo next to my workbench. But, I did finish the cab for it and I needed an idea for the grill cloth so what could be more appropriate for a stand alone reverb unit than the Great Wave Off Kanagawa?
When I needed to replace the shredded grillcloth on the Bassman, it seemed natural to pair them this way as well.

It's weird to me that it's only certain subs.
BTW, I did end up with a few more sparkle Zvex pedals and I finally got that Octane II! It looks like whatever shop they took it to, to get fixed, sold it out from under them.

Great news on the sparkle Zvex! Addicting stuff, for sure!
I had a look your profile and can't figure out what the problem is...it looks to be ok...I asked some of the other admins to have a look too.
Hopefully we can get this fixed.

Looks like it's limited to no editing in threads in the backstage and side stage? Everywhere else seems fine. I wonder if it's to do with the age of my account and relative inactivity?

Strange...that should be fixed now...
...there was a part of your profile that had a particular box unchecked...maybe there's more stuff unchecked...we will look into it....this is a definite first in over a decade or running the forum!
