There...
A question : I use loads of muti FX boxes (mostly Roland 19" racks) : two GP-16 and a GS-6.
I was wondering if some stuff such as the Boss J-4 was still available : it allowed the player to divide the signal from a stomp box into 4 different outputs. You could then mix the 4 source using a (small) mixer...
Is anything like this stuff available ?

Re: Signal Divider
I think you mean the J-5, you can make them really easily. Basically just buy a case and drill 5 holes, then connect 5 1/4" phone jacks together in PARALLEL.
It would cost you about 10 to 15 dollars to make if you already own a soldering iron and some solder.
Boss also made a J-44 which was a little different (2 rca jacks and 2 mini jacks connected in parallel).
the boss area has all kinds of info on every boss pedal made, the j-5 and j-44 are in the area called "other products" on the left side.

Edited to say parallel rather than series

Why should we buy postage stamps? We can make our own.

Exactly !!! Thanks very much !pullover wrote: I think you mean the J-5
I made a mistake : I was stuck to the 4 outputs and really though the thing was called "J-4"... Forgot about the input that made it "5"...
I was wondering about the inside : Were there any electronics in there ? I guess you may have sound losses if you don't reinforce the signal before dividing it... That's what I wanted to know about this little devide. If anyone used it before, please tell me.
I was ready to make one by myself, but if I could find one, I'd be happy...

Re: Signal Divider
They didn't need power so I would assume theres not much inside. I would just make one, as they are hard to find and easy to make.

Uh... Yes, no battery needed... But does it mean there was nothing in there ?pullover wrote: They didn't need power so I would assume theres not much inside.

Tell me about rarity...
I'll try : after all, it's better than a jangly mess of long cables and 2 mixing consoles...
I fear losing signal power, though.

Re: Signal Divider
Most likely there is nothing inside but good 'ole boss factory air. If there was a switch they would have put a resistor in there to keep it from popping when switched, but no need for that here.Ahahah wrote: Uh... Yes, no battery needed... But does it mean there was nothing in there ?
The signal loss would be slight, like using a Y cable. If your concerned about it you might boost the signal before going into the box with a booster or eq pedal.Ahahah wrote: I fear losing signal power, though.
