Re: The Greatest Ad Ever
I think that's intentional. The pedal is so brootal, its output is powering the entire giant robot!
I like the phallic nature of the robot's playing position. That lets you know that he is not only giant and powerful - he's masculine, and I can be too if I get me one of those!
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Re: The Greatest Ad Ever
Yeah, obviously nobody at Boss/Roland Corporate checked the cable before signing off on the ad.
But it's unclear if all of the destruction (and panic) is coming from the robot's (and pedal's) manly-man shredifying abilities, or from the planes, tanks and warships firing at him.
That ad is probably where they got the idea for The Terminator. Sucks they nixed the guitar, but I think they incorporated the pedal as his fuel cells.

It's a boost booster, to boost your boost - it makes your tone much muchier.

It's an experimental lefty pedal and they forgot to flip the robot; you know how fussy lefties are

Wow, so if you’re a lefty, the signal chains flow backwards, sorta like water cyclones backwards down under?!?
Haha
This just keeps getting better...

And girls and women everywhere waited patiently for the internet to be invented so they could order guitars to be shipped to their homes and not have to go to the guitar store.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

I have this pedal and version after it.....sounds good paired with a Marshall tube amp....you can run the distortion at 12o'clock for lots of BREWTAL slayer tones all day. Pair this with a JCM 800, you are good to go.

Re: The Greatest Ad Ever
We could have been maximizing tone by going directly into the tone knob, but nobody picked up on the subtlety of the ad.
So we’re still stuck in the past, plugging into the jack and getting the signal to the tone the long way, losing precious tone-infused electrons along the way. This secret was supposed to die with the few at Boss that knew about it.
Bonus conspiracy theory for you:
When they realized the potential of what they had done soon after they put the ad out, they yanked it and hoped to bury it. Nobody would need to buy their pedals anymore, except maybe to tone down all the massive tone. They sold the robot design to the art department of the studio that came out with the Terminator to throw off anyone’s memories of the ad.
This ad was never supposed to be seen again, but thanks to the juju that is the internet, their secret is known, at least to a select few in this website.
They can’t have anybody messing up their business model, especially now that they just came out with the waza line - they’ve finally doubled down on their pedal line, thinking nobody knows their secret.
Go buy a waza pedal so you have some solidarity to bargain with them if they ever find out you know, showing you have no intent on creating a new design that doesn’t require pedals, from your newfound knowledge.
That’s an ad in itself.
I suggest the DC-2w.
That is all.

Re: The Greatest Ad Ever
the question everyone is missing is if anyone paid the five bucks for a Heavy Metalman poster.
