Line 6 M-13
I just stumbled on this, I kind of dig the concept. I know that this could never take the place of true analog FX or vintage etc. but i really like the idea. In spite of the fact that i use the hell out of my pod for convenience i don't really use it live. this on the other hand might be kind of cool. Heres what the line 6 page says
"M13 Stompbox Modeler is the essential all-in-one pedal board experience that features a comprehensive collection of the most sought-after stompbox sounds, a full-featured looper and super-heavy-duty all-metal construction. Without complicated menus or presets, M13 Stompbox Modeler channels the soul and ease of a stompbox.
Boasting over 75 immortal stompbox effects including distortions, reverbs, delays (including sounds from our best-selling DL4™ delay pedal), and so much more, reach into M13 Stompbox Modeler for access to many of history’s most celebrated sounds. Use up to four different sounds—or four of the same—simultaneously. Each stompbox model features dedicated knobs for instant tweaking.
The 28-second looper is always at the ready with dedicated footswitches for Play/Stop, Half-Speed, Reverse, Undo and more. All M13 Stompbox Modeler’s metal footswitches can withstand constant stomping and rock and roll-style abuse.
Use any sound, in any arrangement, with any of the 12 footswitches. Create different pedal board setups, or “scenes”, for instant recall of an entire gig’s or song’s stompbox sounds. Save a scene for your metal band, one for your Top 40 sessions…you get the picture. No more tearing up Velcro® just to change one or two pedals. Save up to 12 scenes and back them up to your computer using the MIDI in/out.
Super-easy, super-solid and featuring a built-in chromatic tuner, toss M13 Stompbox Modeler on stage and hit the ground running."
what do you guys think?

and the size of a suitcase!
intriguing, but the fun of stompboxes is going a la carte.

it's really about time someone made something like this

Re: Line 6 M-13
Hey, saw this yesterday and I'm not really gassing for it yet, I know Line6s delays are very nice, but how about their other FX? what do you guys say about their modulation pedals? And their ODs?
and what dou you think that the different rows of footswitches do? like three different settings per effect?
I guess we'll learn in time, but it's always fun to speculate!

Re: Line 6 M-13
as far as i could tell from the various write ups on line the thing is about the size of two dl-4's with one in front of the other, so it should fit nicely on a regular sized (if there is such a thing) pedal board.
each of the 12 stomp buttons can be assigned to any effect in any order, it even says you can do a row of the same effect running into itself. i believe only one from each column can be active at a time giving you four effects simultaniusly. but you can assign anything in each of those, including modulation, dirt, filter, comp, eq, reverb, and delay.
in my opinion you will never pass up a real vintage rat pedal for a line 6 emulataion of one, but i think they do a reasonable job emulating it on the pod xt that i have. so i have no reason to believe that this unit will be anything less. i believe the same for most of their effects. i tend to dig their reverb and delay units above all else though.
i have also read that it does a reasonable job as a looper and has a tuner pedal on it.
also, there seems to be no release date on the thing but i have seen advertised street prices of around 500 dollars american.
i dunno, i think it looks cool, but i will definatly try it out before i go crazy and buy one without seeing it in person first.
i could be wrong about any of that stuff but thats what i have pieced together today after discovering it last night.

Hey, that sounds cool!
I kinda miss my DL-4 a little iwth the sweep echo and the loop function of it, so I'm already planning on buying an M13 and 500$ is not too pricey considering what you're getting.
I bet it will be more expensive in Sweden though.

Re: Line 6 M-13
Crap, that's almost twice the price...
Is there any way of going around this?

Lurking around in the Line6 forum, I stumbled upon this: http://www.esnips.com/doc/6e1afab2-0e18 ... mp-27MAR08
The manual for M13.
Wow. It's gonna be very cool. I'm giving in now, I really want this one! And I want it now!
I'd like for all of you to welcome the newest object for my GAS.

Re: Line 6 M-13
I'm first in line for one of these...I can't wait.
I think it's going to be really cool. I LOVE the Line 6 DM4 Od/Dist modeler, and the mod and delay fx are fantatic as well.

Re: Line 6 M-13
Looks cool! Anyone know if it'll be true bypass like their other stompbox modelers? I be this thing will be quite expensive, anyone know how much?

Re: Line 6 M-13
Yes, it's true bypass just like the 4-button stompers.
It's going to be $499 street price, which if you consider that it has all 4 of the 4-button stompbox modelers in it PLUS the Verbzilla that's a really silly deal.
It even has an assignable fx loop so you can run some fx in front of your amp (wah, comp and OD) and others in your amp's fx loop (reverb and delay).
Very cool, and I can't wait to get my feet on one.

Wow, if my DL4 ever craps out, I will definitely get one of these. Looks like you might need to be pretty precise in your stomping though.

Re: Line 6 M-13
I've been waiting forever for someone to make something like the quadraverb, but in stompbox rather than rack format. This thing looks like it might be close.
