I was looking up videos of tape echo units and found a video where a guy rehouses Boss DD-20s which is something I never even thought about being possible. I’ve had one nearly at ever point of my guitar playing life, always ending up going back to it after deciding to try something else (the line6 dl4, memory man w/ Hazarai whateverthefuck that means [was a great pedal for looping], the Boss RE-20, etc.) because of how tweakable it is. The one thing I don’t like about it is the loop interface. It’s pretty limited as is, and I don’t really know if this is out of the question or anything because I’ve not found much in the past few minutes of googling around and I’m not mechanically-inclined enough to do it myself, but I’m very curious if it can be altered in any way.

Those line 6 things weren’t my cup of tea at all for a delay but as a looper they’re a lot of fun. I’m basically wondering if it’d be possible to make the boss thing function in the same ways - add a couple switches and be able to control speed and be able to start, pause, restart loops like you can with the dl4. Even if you could just add a pause/restart function that’d make it way more useful.

I know shits digital and I assume would invoke coding or something? I’m at a loss personally but would love to find out if any of that is possible.

always liked those rehousing mods, but I'd be paying the same amount that I payed for mine to get it modded by him. lol. Does he do a DIY version where you just gets the parts and a piece of paper with instructions?

Yeah it was the loophole guy I don’t know why I didn’t just look at their site.

So I looked and it definitely doesn’t seem like they’ve done anything like what I’m asking and by and large seem to pretty much be the typical switch replacement/rehousing/led changes and other cosmetic stuff.
