Tech 21 Hot rod plexi (thump) vs. Tech 21 OMG ?

hello again, so here's the thing i'm after plexi kind of amp in the box (with boost) pedal

my first choice is lovepedal plexi pro germanium one but it either costs million or is really hard to find

(missed one for 100 bucks on reverb though)

then i came across OMG and it kinda sounds amp like ?

well i want an opinion who owned/played both

p.s. any plexi in a box (w/boost) advice would be appreciated as well (sorry for little offtopic here)

Have you looked at the Wampler Plexi-Drive Deluxe? Seems like it would be right up your alley. Nice bit of control over the circuit.

Is it important to you to be able to use the boost on its own, or are you using the boost as a kind of second channel option?

Because the Radial Plexitube seems to fit your general criteria, but rather than a pure boost function it has a switchable rhythm/lead channel type of deal with independent output knobs/contour knobs/voicing settings for each. Also has a neat trick - its own effects loop for the lead channel, so if you want something turned on automatically for leads only, you can leave it on in there.

Don't most Radials also have a boost switch, that's able to be modified for straight boost, mid hump or mute? My Switchbone has that, I figured it was pretty common in their pedals. But the loop is a brilliant addition.

Radial makes some nice stuff, I have 2 of their switching pedals and love them.

i'm using boost for boost but i intend to use boost separately on compressor and fuzz as well

That's all good dude. I just remembered that they made a deluxe version with a footswitchable boost, and thought it was a decent alternative

so stuck on germanium lovepedal plexi but they are rare to find

can i change silicone transistors to germanium ?

is it doable ... if i'll buy normal lovepedal plexi 100 ?
