Morley rotating wah ??

Post by raphaël » Sun Nov 04, 2018 10:14 am

Hey,
I got an offer for a trade, a Morley rotating wah. Never heard of it before. Don't really need it because my pedals purchase scheduled list is done. But this is kind of intriguing and very 70's sounding, which is a thing I like. Plus 3 in 1, cool.
Anyone tried one of those or own one?
I'm very curious and it would be nice to have some kind of a review or a general feeling about this very space friendly pedal :D

Used to have one.
I sold it on to a friend because i rejigged my pedalboard plan/ layout.
... and between the sheer physical bulk and the weight of the damn thing, I could get about 4 or 5 different FX in the same space.
A Morley oilcan pedal is at least three times the size, and maybe even FOUR times the weight of a regular Crybaby style wah pedal.
All kidding aside, if you miss a pedal stab with a poorly aimed foot, it's like kicking a house brick. Mondo hurty. :'(

If you REALLY want it, make sure it actually works properly...
As the oilcan fluid can be tricky to procure, and if you need it sent overseas, also potentially problematic.
Pray that the oilcan itself hasn't sprung a leak, or rusted out.
Most of them were AC powered too.

Mine was 110V, and I live in a country with 240V domestic 'lectric... :fp:
Hence another power supply to hook up, extra weight, etc.
Hope that helps.
