Looking to simulate some of the leads of JAMC on dark lands. My understanding is they used the Shin-Ei fuzz wah on a lot of stuff..
Anything cheaper that could come close to that?

A Japanese fuzz and a Crybaby. Companion fuzz, Superfuzz, Jen, Acetone, Roland, they all have similar blood lines. Put the fuzz first and cock the wah. An unbuffered wah will have little peaks that feedback like crazy, which is why blues guys insist wah goes in front.

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Re: Alternatives to Shin-Ei fuzz Wah?
Speaking of, has anyone tried the Jext Telez version of the Companion Fuzz, the Canyon Climber?
I've bought a lot of their other pedals, but haven't tried that one. They make really nice stuff, it would surprise me if their version wasn't pretty close to the real deal, or maybe even <gasp> improved upon (I know, shut your mouth with that heresy!).
